I'm a very good transport chopper and what you gotta do is put yourself in the gunners' shoes. Imagine you are gunning are you going too fast, too high, too low?

Btw I always alternate which way I turn in my circuits when I have 2 gunners. Very frustrating when the pilot never faces you towards the enemy.

You're flying too close in my opinion. As a gunner, you barely time to kill the guy before you've passed him. And its almost too low for your teammates to deploy their parachutes without taking dmg when they're landing on the ground

Another free tip: Have a Medic (Assault) throw a medical bag into the center of the bay of the chopper BEFORE he gets in and you all take off. On hardcore servers with no health regeneration it helps when people take hits.

low and slow is the best thing. altitude determines what kind of fire support you give. low, where the altimeter turns red is a gun run, meaning you kill people, anything above that where you can still see people on the ground is just suppressive fire. any higher and you are pointless. if you know the people in your chopper and can talk to them, and you're feeling ballsy hover over the flag to cap it yourself. it makes you look like a boss. just saying

IMO, The best part of the transport chopper is that the whole team can spawn then parachute directly over the objective! So its a great way to infiltrate. What really pisses me off is that this chopper has no upgrades, and the driver gets very very little points so it sucks for the guy who wants to fly the chopper, This chopper should have defensive upgrades like stealth and the pilot should get more points.

Good video! I do the same stuff. I hate when you're gunning and the pilot is in the clouds. The minigun spanks up close, so give me a shot! Another thing I like to do is switch to third person and when I see a huge group, I'll pull up to them, slow down to a crawl as my gunner gets multikills. It's a lot of fun and I try to make the gunners feel like it's a mission in singleplayer. Lol.

A nice tutorial, but in my opinion, having both gunners lined up properly is preferable. Of course this is hard to achieve on some maps but when possible, it should be your aim. Two gunners = Twice the firepower!

What I usually do is fly the helicopter just outside the objective, especially on Rush, wait until the helo fills up and then I fly towards the objective, land just outside it for no longer than 2 seconds, get them to jump off ( sometimes the players are retarded and stay on ), I don't want them to jump off because the parachute reveals their position and if I am too close to the ground they will lose health.

And if there's a gunner left, I circle around the objective for air support.

the more experienced people i see use the transport helicopters the more i see how ISANLY powerful they really are. an experienced pilot with a gunner that has good situation awareness and an engineer can be MUCH deadlier than a regular chopper. first the range is really far, second in can actually hurt tanks even tough it's absurd- even kill jets!, third it's self repairing in the sky!

and even jets might be able to have a hard time keeping up, because good pilots evade strafing runs.

what if your gunners are shit? i was on rush yesterday and i was hovering over the objectives with the enemies shooting their guns at me, this went on for about 30 secs then, the inevitable happens. constant lock on. the gunners didnt get a single kill. so the best thing to do is kamikaze your chopper into the ground with them still inside. they didnt even bother jumping out

Now, for the actual gameplay. Some people haven't thought about it, but the Venom is always a mobile spawnpoint for the entire team, so flying at a speed and height that makes it easy for extra people to spawn in and jump out into action is crucial to fully utilising the fat eggbeater.

Another tip is to fly at objectives with your preferred gunning side facing sideways. Really annoys me when I'm gunning and the pilot flies directly at something...

Also, when I have two good gunners, I try to fly in a figure-of-eight or alternating circle flightpath. Tears defences up!

This is good. But I would add a few tips to this. (These are for people who are working together rather than just random people)

1. Always have an engineer on-board. ALWAYS!

2. Fly high above the base you want to take initially and have some people jump out and parachute into the base. They start to cap it while you circle around and give close air support.

3. Fly a little bit slower so the gunner can take better, more precise shots.

4. Play on Hardcore mode so it's even easier to kill players.

Yeah, you have to go slowly or your gunners can't aim for shit. And yes, going on circles is definitely the way to go. In BC2 on maps like Islas Inocentes you could stay straight to the points from a certain distance that your two gunners could do their work tho.

I feel like pilots doesn't get enough reward for that, which is a shame, all the hard work is on the pilot and he only gets 10 points for his gunner kills and not even a ribbon.

Wouldn't it be cool if the transports could drop supply crates or something like in Project Reality? That way you wouldn't necessarily have to rely on your gunners to get any points. Transport pilots get no major team play points as it is right now.

The only thing I would change about this video is the speed which you're flying around the flags. It's really, really difficult to hit anything as a gunner with the pilot flying around so quickly. You'll be a little more open to damage, but your gunners will be so much deadlier.

Normally, I like to fill it up in the start, and in Wake I drop them off near E, and after that let my friends spawn and take the gunner seats, where we then go offensive mode like you, though they go into F4/F5 to repair if needed.

Transport helos are also good for spawns, you could fly really high above C and let your team spawn and drop. Same for spreading ppl around flags.
