Would taking the money promote gambling? Is it sending the wrong message. I think that the choice to give the money belongs to the person who won the money. The mission should focus and using money to good effect. In using the money they are in no way condoning gambling, they did not gamble, they are a charity and beggars can't be choosers as the saying goes.
You'd rather have your mission close down and let all those people starve, because of a matter of principle. An easy decision to make on a full belly I'm sure.

Yes it's part of our culture, but culture and religion are 2 different things. Alot of religions don't believe in gambling, and that's why they refused to take the money, because it came from gambling. And for anyone, if you say lottery is not gambling, you're dumb. Again, state lottery might now be illegal with the laws of men, but it is illegal with laws of god.
Life is a gamble itself. There are winners and losers all the time. When you try and open a business you are basically taking a gamble. Gambling becomes a sin when it hurts either yourself or others. Most State lotteries would not have even been started if it were not for the money going back into education, roads, and other public services. I personally would have taken the money and challenged the local Sam's Club to match me dollar for dollar. That challenge would be televised.

Well guys it's been 2 years since I turned down the lottery $. Listening to what God told me & then doing it was the best thing I have ever done. Not only did God bless me with an opportunity to be on TV & radio several times & share the gospel around the world BUT God replaced that $ many times over by giving us with TWO new buildings! better then I could have imagined. You yourself preached against gambling, which is fine. But if someone else chose to gamble and won, why would you not accept the money? Yes it's part of our culture, but culture and religion are 2 different things. Alot of religions don't believe in gambling, and that's why they refused to take the money, because it came from gambling. And for anyone, if you say lottery is not gambling, you're dumb. Again, state lottery might now be illegal with the laws of men, but it is illegal with laws of god.

Life is a gamble itself. There are winners and losers all the time. When you try and open a business you are basically taking a gamble. Gambling becomes a sin when it hurts either yourself or others. Most State lotteries would not have even been started if it were not for the money going back into education, roads, and other public services. I personally would have taken the money and challenged the local Sam's Club to match me dollar for dollar. That challenge would be televised.

maybe the wrong way to go, but its up to him? maybe he didnt want the money as hes fed up running that place, and he knows its closeing down? i lost all my money in canada, going into buisness with my brother in law,i lost over 250.000 bucks, and now liveing with my mom in england,house truck motorcycle the lot all gone and my daughters still in canada and my grandaughter who i havnt seen, i cant even afford the plane ticket to go see her,so anyone wanna help me id be gratfull
