I don't believe one can 'survive' the singularity, even the most ardent Singularitarian has to admit that a singularity worthy of the name involves a paradigm shift so immense and unimaginable that the chances of the self surviving it are slim. Something might survive, but it wont be the self that cling to now, no?
Consioucness is a monadic, irreducible naturalistic phenomena. I'm no physicist but matter seems to be made largely of nothing, the concept of the Singularity 9of the historical type) is discussed in the relevant literature, and as to you r last question...muc less than we think.
@tristan2440 Most the comic strip pannels are from a one of "story" called "Contact" that apeared in an american quarterly comic named "Epic Illustrated" from the mid eighties I believe.
@zuklonbe I think you can go to the stone age or to the future. The singularity is an interdimensional/intertemporal doorway. It is present now, but is growing. Your thoughts are your navigation system. I think this means we have found tickets to the party.
awesome!!

@Origen305 What is the singularity? What is consciousness? What is matter? WTF do we know?

@Origen305 I have thought about this this greatly, what is self and will it survive a paradigm shift of consciousness, much left to explore.

Sorry humans, resistance truly is futile.

@multidimenzionz Resisting the singularity may be futile but what we allow the singularity to turn us into may not be.
