I'm a high schooler.... I'm so gulliable... That's horrible how are they gonna recruit someone my age, and except me to do something like this. Sorry but as I am striving for my Business Associates, they practice that Primerica Practices are just horrible. They are deceptive, pyrmidal scheme, that you could make it big if your the biggest douche. Maybe I'm too young don't get me wrong, but doing people wrong and robbing them of their fiance... Is horrible.
It vexes me that people out there are looking for an opportunity to do something great with their lives. Then when shown this opportunity, scoff at the company. People want what the successful have, but aren't willing to put in the work to achieve it. Their loss. What a shame though
Thats the best thing Primerica doesnt have to put themselves out there and they are still on top. The best companies dont need to be on commercials and in mags and they still are bigger then most. What does that say.......?????..
They overcharge poor americans for insurance and think they are doing them a "favor" - BS - your products are overpriced and Citi groups couldnt wait to get rid you guys. Wikipedia Primerica for more info - I offer term and whole life and can explain the difference and where the need is - Primerica chimps cant explain whole life and drink the term kool-aid and are stuck with term from ONE company when I can offer more than 30 companies. A good agent has more than ONE tool for the job.
If Primerica helps you, why does it ask for money for your training? Answer: They want your money so they can put it into their stocks; in other words, your the sucker and what makes Primerica profitable.
@XR42 you dont have to pay for primerica training..the $99 you pays goes to a few things..1) background check, the company does not hire felons 2) $25 monthly fee to access a online business management system maintained by morningstar software 3) the other part of the 99 goes to a trainiing class that helps a new recuit to get a professional state sponsored life insurance license, a license that normally can cost $1000 or more..FYI, try to get more precise info before judging a company
@XR42 An "official" company doesn't ask for money to get the things you need to be an employee. Companies spend their time and/or money to get you enployeed under their name, not the other way around. You say you don't have to, but they make it a nonoptional choice to pay because you need to pay to stay in their system, you pay for them to do a check on you, you have to pay for the classes, then you have to pay more than you paid last time to get your licence. IT'S A SCAM.
@owenbuca ok, language. I'm aware of the licence charge and how it works. It may cost (in reality) somewhere around $100 a year to do this type of business in the city depending on your location. It could be more or less. $800 or more is something else besides a licence. The company still has to pay, if they don't then that means they arn't being seen as a legitimate business by any city they are in.
@XR42 It is not a scam. I have never seen a more ignorant statement. You are not looking at the big picture - your entire statement is rhetoric. Keep right on punching that clock while the rest of us leave you behind. I have seen this close up - real people making a real difference in their own lives. Nothing you respond with here will be considered credible because you know nothing of the facts.
@ChrisJonesMods Then where are the facts that prove this companies success? The only proof is from the company and those that were employeed by them. You may say it, but it's not enough proof to say it is a good company. Does it really sound possible that a company would just hire someone and give them enough money to retire early. even if people were getting paid after jumping through hoop after hoop, the question is the does the customers match the money coming in?
@ChrisJonesMods Here's my theory of this company,my only and standing belief of this company, this company dilibritly ruins a number of people after going through the training which may somehow help keep their stock at a steady rate. The earnings as well they get is from the employees that losses their money to the Primerica and from their funraisers or conventions. Only a theory of course.
@XR42 What you are not understanding is that Primerica is not a W2 employee type job. It's a commission based independant contractor position, much like a real estate agent, car sales, mutual fund brokerage where you are in essence starting and building your own client base and business, thus responsible for the expenses that your business incures. The General Agency business model that Primerica uses is typicaly found within the sales industry.
@gopassion71 Ok lets hit this from a differnt position. If Primarica does pay you thousands of dallors a month, why stay over a year? Why is the calculation of the for the death claims missin 10 million dollars in 2010? Why does this company say it pays for your licence why you have to pay for it? Why does a company have to rent office space to hire new employee? Why isn't there a television comercial? Why is this company trying so hard to defend itself? Instead of explanations, give me answers.
@XR42 You are not exactly making sense with your questions. You get paid on the business you write, either with life ins. mortgage, securities, ect. Just like any financial sales company that requires licensing, YOU pay for the license you are applying for. Once you pass the test, Primerica reimburses the cost of the license, thus zero start up, this practice is common in the financial industry. As far as commercials? Easy, Pri is a referal markeing company (word of mouth) When a company-
@gopassion71 produces a commercial, it can cost into the hundreds of thousands of dollars to make that commercial. That cost of advertising gets passed on to the consumer through more expensive products, makes sense for the consumer. If Primerica needs to defend it's self, it's only because of people like you who cannot get their head around that there are other business models out side of four walls and a time clock.
@XR42 Also, just because you don't understand this company, does not make it a scam. It's been around since 1977 and is HEAVILY regulated by many financial governing bodies such as NASD/FINRA National life ins board and many others and as of last year is publicly traded. Like it or hate it, it has all the credibility it needs... And you are??????
@gopassion71 Again your explaining; I want an answer for my question. I have done my research about Primarica after my job interview with them. And with another question, why are telling me how long it's been around and why are you saying it has credibility when it has proven in a number of their videos that their math is way off? And don't you notice that their symbol is a rip off of a spiritual sympol. Colors are different but that's not original.
@XR42 I am willing to answer any question IF you can articulate it in a way it makes sense and not sound like a conspiricy theorist. What spiritiual symbol are you eluding to? And if you are basing you view point on YT videos bashing the company, that's hardly objective. You have yet to substantiate a viable argument against.
@gopassion71 Don't think of me as the bad guy, I'm only asking questions. If there's a question you don't understand, just tell me. I'm not Fox Molder looking for the truth in The X Files. Just questions that havn't been answered. That video was infavor of Primerica. I'm not getting one person's point of view, and I'm getting more info than just the video. That symbol is the Borromean Rings, a christianity symbol. Now, here's one question for you; are you employeed at Primerica?
@XR42 Ok, fair enough. I see what you are talking about interms of the rings, although any religious connotations aside, I believe it was adopted as a show of unity. I was with them for almost 3 years, so I do understand the business but I also understand how people see it, not being familiar with an entrepreneurial business model. I have already answered about the licensing. Not sure what you are refering to about missing 2010 death claims. Where are you getting that from?
@gopassion71 So you must see from my point of view and others that spending money for training, getting a licence, how the company is structured, and also working for a company that hasn't had any public awarness can label this company a pyramid sceme. The death claims came from the video "Primerica Scam". It may be infavor, but there are holes in their story. A couple of the employees has told me, the company work like behind the insurance companies to help make better plans.
@XR42 i can see the points your tryin to make, people do have a tendency to label something as evil or scam if they dont understand it or there are to many grey areas..the company operates diff han a job does, and people can be hatefull and afraid of things that are diff, thats life in general..a far as the payin for training and licenseing..a person couldnt even operate a hotdog stand, the ones you would see in a a downtown city area, w/o payin money to rent or buy the equipment, and pay
@XR42 for a license from the city to operate it, and if a person wnated to be a doctor or any career rquiring school, most likely they are gonnna have to pay for the books they use, and the credit hours needed to fullfill graduate needs..anything of any real value costs something,as far as it not bein advertised, it is sad that people associate realness with a tv or radio ad..alot of times face to face adv.is more effective..i rarely get in the mood to do buy something just cause its ontv
@gopassion71 My next question is, how is Primerica advertising itself it's not putting itself out for the world to see and hear? i never heard about this company since The job fair I went to and if they help the number of people they helped then the question is, does the number of people match the cost of the earnings made from the month to the year. Money leaves a trail, and if the shoe doesn't match the foot print then that money didn't come from the customers.
@gopassion71 good points, people act like primerica's comp system is somehow something they made up, its actaully modeled simliar to real estate..big difference is tho, that in real estate only the broker can recuit agents, open their own office, and collect override income, where as in primerica you have the same advantages of bein a broker from day one
@carsonc29 People will always try to find fault with PFS. There is no such thing as a perfect company but there is nothing wrong with the Primerica business model. It has always vexed me that people try to criminalize a model where virtualy anyone that learns and works the business, can have financial success but somehow that is seen as a scam or dishonest, yet working a traditional job where you are payed just enough to pay bills (the majority of middle America) is seen as admirable.
@gopassion71 i find that funny as well..the people who complain about the rich having everything are the same ones who scoff at the idea that they can learn a abusiness that gives them a chance to build equity for themselves and have that same opportunity that the rich have
As a former Primerican and can tell you it's fact - they have the MOST expensive term life in the industry and they charge the HIGHEST allowable commission on their high fee mutual funds. Plus they use UNISEX rates which in their case results in NO premium relief for males and absolutely crushes the female rate. And their 30 year is ONLY guaranteed 20 years with a waiver that costs 15% of base premium, while ind. ave. is 3%. Criminal
hahahaha.....everyone that said primerica is a scam they're all haters of primerica and they dont know anything about primerica......first of all primerica dont charge you for your training, second the company pays for your license, and plus you all just mad because primerica is the right business for everyone and there families, and whoever that is saying primerica is a scam, that means you are referring that phrase to yourself and what ever business you are in right now.......LETS GO PRIMERICA
The entire company is a scam. The offices are at most held in a single office in a "suite." They call anyone to hire them because they make you pay for your own licensing and keep part of it as a fee. This is where their money comes from. You pay them to get started and they pay you no set salary. On your application it asks for "references", but instead of calling these people to see if you are a good worker, they call these people and harass them and try to scam them too.
@economicswiki Primerica pays over $3000 dollars while you only pay $99 dollars to get started. Their money comes from doing great things for people and not scaming people otherwise do you seriously think they would make bank this way? no they would have been finished years ago. Get out of your corperate way of thinking and open your eyes and see the company for what it is.
@economicswiki totally inaccurate, it sounds like your just making baseless opinions..do you not have to pay to become a doctor,lawyer,teacher???...you have to pay a fee to get your drivers license, an agent in real estate must pay to get theit license, anything of any real value doesnt come free..you may not have tp pay to get a traditional job, but the tradeoff is that you have someone else telling you how much your time is worth, they pay by position, not by production most tim
@economicswiki oh and um, they dont just hire anyone, no felons are allowed, that would be what the back ground check is for..as far as payin not net salary..most real estate companies dont pay its agents a net salary as well, they are paid stricly on what they sell..the comany doesnt advertise the business as a W-2 postion(job)..what the crap are you gettin your info from man?????
Haha yeah protecting your family's income in case one of the bread-winners dies, getting out of debt, and saving for a comfortable retirement is all stuff that no one needs. All people REALLY need is another credit card so they can buy stuff they can't actually afford. And then when they die they should be leaving their children with the debt they never paid off, not money to survive on. Like really? How ignorant do you have to be?
I paid 99$ which paid for my business application and my LLQP. 99$ is an OUTSTANDING price to get into business and an OUTSTANDING price to take the courses necessary to pass provincial exams - which all life agents must do in ANY company. I was given a 100$ scholarship when I completed the first part of my training process. So, that cancels out the 99$ fee. I received a SECOND scholarship when I completed another phase of my training. So - I paid a 99$ fee and was given 200$ - pyramid? No,
This is the best opportunity ive seen and i will never let it go. Primerica is a huge gift to population, families and we work with heart. Of course it is not easy, someone said it would be?? nope. but i know where i belong and i found myself happier and better than who i was.how many families teared up in my arms... i am so proud of this.1st april, it is the best foundation of time right now and it will keep going on, coz we're just gonna do it,just do it!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The stock is down 26% YTD. Which is not surprising for a company that pretty much runs a pyramid scheme type of business. They charge you a fee to train you, like is usually the case in pyramid schemes. They try to recruit ANYONE, no relevant background necessary. Yeah, what a great company to own. Save your money, and if you work at PRI, get yourself a real job. This company is a joke. Google Primerica and see how many scam alerts and horror stories you find.

@stevieb2012 LOL, you mad? I don't sell insurance and don't plan to. I didn't mean they hire anyone as in "with criminal record", I meant anyone, no experience or education necessary. And judging by your uncivilized answer and your grammar skills, I'd say I was right. They hire morons and they market their products to morons. It's pretty simple.
@ushiwakamaru30 you are right, in a way. primerica gives almost anyone an opportunity to TRY the business. however, it is usually the intelligent and well-versed who prevail. the idiots tend to fail... but at least they get a shot at it! luckily primerica is regulated enough that the idiots can't do too much damage. there are bad apples in every organization...
@ushiwakamaru30 How much is the fee? I'd like to know before I invest my life savings into it. From the way that someone, outside of Primerica, told me, they train you by taking you to homes of persons to whom they were intending to show how to make their monies work harder for THEM, to get out of debt and have something descent to retire on. I'd sure like to know if that's what they do, and how much they charge you when they take you to sit with them at somebody's house for the "training."
@DiceHunt It's pretty rich especially if you're not working. They found an old resume I posted on Monster and they tried to recruit me, but when I told them about my job, my licensing and my experience, they couldn't say anything as they basically would be asking me to accept a huge pay cut, a demontion, and everything in between. My advice to zyou is to get your foot in the door with a startup banking job, get them to pay for your licensing fees, and before you know it, you're fully licensed.

@DiceHunt the company does not charge clients for simply sitting down with them, the appointment is simply educational, and if that person sees value in what the company does, then that is discussed at a later date, typcially the next appointment..sales are rarely done of the first appointment, the company preferrs the client understand what they could potentially be buying or gettin involved with, giving adequate info b4 they make any moves
I look forward to meeting John A. in the future. He's a perfect example of someone who wins in business by having a big heart and a strong work ethic to do whats right for the american consumer. For those of you out there who are skeptical, look for people like him. He and others out there tell it like it is when it comes to practicing simple financial concepts like having adequate protection for your family, systematically investing in a Roth IRA, getting rid of debt rather than maintain
@zzzzzzz114 Yeah, I can't believe they get people to do business with them everyday. They made my parents pay off their mortgage 13 years sooner than planned, put away tens of thousands of dollars for retirement. My parents are so mad! How dare they!
Go do your homework, and please, keep your minimal wage job. Primerica is too much for you to handle.
@zzzzzzz114 They offer a variety of financial services to help families, such as investment options like a mutual fund for retierment, very low cost term life insurance. ( life insurance is important. if your mom and or dad died, and they have it. Lets say 300,000 worth, that money goes to the benifitiaries, most likely you.) The pre paid legal shield, car insurace program that's does the shoping for you, the list goes on. i worked with them for 6 months so I know. Do some research youngin
@bigblackracoon Thank you for enlightening some families, especially those who think there's a scam in Primerica. Insurance companies just don't like the fact that Primerica tells the truth about insurance, sells something more economical, get a smaller commission (not out selling something to stuff your wallet, but help them) and get them on the right track for a relaxing retirement, and getting BOTH the insurance and savings should one of the insured pass away.
I'm a high schooler.... I'm so gulliable... That's horrible how are they gonna recruit someone my age, and except me to do something like this.

On your application it asks for "references", but instead of calling these people to see if you are a good worker, they call these people and harass them and try to scam them too.
economicswiki 4 months ago
@economicswiki Primerica pays over $3000 dollars while you only pay $99 dollars to get started. Their money comes from doing great things for people and not scaming people otherwise do you seriously think they would make bank this way? no they would have been finished years ago. Get out of your corperate way of thinking and open your eyes and see the company for what it is.
vfIskullangel 3 months ago
@economicswiki - and how much money do you have? Are you happy? I'm guessing not. Are you a credible expert on such things?
ChrisJonesMods 1 month ago
@economicswiki totally inaccurate, it sounds like your just making baseless opinions..do you not have to pay to become a doctor,lawyer,teacher???...you have to pay a fee to get your drivers license, an agent in real estate must pay to get theit license, anything of any real value doesnt come free..you may not have tp pay to get a traditional job, but the tradeoff is that you have someone else telling you how much your time is worth, they pay by position, not by production most tim
carsonc29 1 month ago
@economicswiki oh and um, they dont just hire anyone, no felons are allowed, that would be what the back ground check is for..as far as payin not net salary..most real estate companies dont pay its agents a net salary as well, they are paid stricly on what they sell..the comany doesnt advertise the business as a W-2 postion(job)..what the crap are you gettin your info from man?????
carsonc29 1 month ago

No,

It's pretty simple.
ushiwakamaru30 1 year ago
@ushiwakamaru30 you are right, in a way. primerica gives almost anyone an opportunity to TRY the business. however, it is usually the intelligent and well-versed who prevail. the idiots tend to fail... but at least they get a shot at it! luckily primerica is regulated enough that the idiots can't do too much damage. there are bad apples in every organization...

@rgingery02 i can't argue with that. it's true.

DiceHunt 7 months ago
@DiceHunt It's pretty rich especially if you're not working. They found an old resume I posted on Monster and they tried to recruit me, but when I told them about my job, my licensing and my experience, they couldn't say anything as they basically would be asking me to accept a huge pay cut, a demontion, and everything in between. My advice to zyou is to get your foot in the door with a startup banking job, get them to pay for your licensing fees, and before you know it, you're fully licensed.
ushiwakamaru30 7 months ago
@DiceHunt ....they pay u for training u only pay for the licensed which is $99
pay $99 dollars is way better than paying $1500 some where else to get ur licences

@DiceHunt We don't charge for training. Call your local office and set up an interview. Its the best line of work I've ever pursued.
Athletictrainer09 6 months ago

@jkkey
big heart and a strong work ethic?
you mean by trying to scam people into getting stuff they don't need
zzzzzzz114 1 year ago
@zzzzzzz114 and what are the stuff that people dont need ?
groundhabit 11 months ago
@zzzzzzz114 Yeah, I can't believe they get people to do business with them everyday. They made my parents pay off their mortgage 13 years sooner than planned, put away tens of thousands of dollars for retirement. My parents are so mad! How dare they!
Go do your homework, and please, keep your minimal wage job. Primerica is too much for you to handle.

@thegazelle0101 thank you! I just started at Primerica and Im loving it! I've never been happy to go to work until i started working here.
SW4TR3PP1N 11 months ago
@zzzzzzz114 They offer a variety of financial services to help families, such as investment options like a mutual fund for retierment, very low cost term life insurance. ( life insurance is important. if your mom and or dad died, and they have it. Lets say 300,000 worth, that money goes to the benifitiaries, most likely you.) The pre paid legal shield, car insurace program that's does the shoping for you, the list goes on. i worked with them for 6 months so I know. Do some research youngin
bigblackracoon 9 months ago
@bigblackracoon Thank you for enlightening some families, especially those who think there's a scam in Primerica. Insurance companies just don't like the fact that Primerica tells the truth about insurance, sells something more economical, get a smaller commission (not out selling something to stuff your wallet, but help them) and get them on the right track for a relaxing retirement, and getting BOTH the insurance and savings should one of the insured pass away.
DiceHunt 7 months ago
I am so proud of this company. It's a great day in Primerica.
