  • can i power this buy plugging it in to the wall?

  • pause video, put your mouse over the [CC] in the loading bar and click Transcribe audio, then you will rofl

  • Just bought the cooler from NZXT and I have the same exact laptop from a few years ago. Still runs like a champ and beats out most everything I have encountered so far.

  • How about you turn it on?

  • @PCHavoc well if you don't want your laptop's internals to completely melt in roughly a year, yes. especially if you do tons of gaming or other taxing things that would heat your laptop.

  • Wow im amazed... this idiot actually sahked the computer and later hit it more than once... you got to be an ignorant to IGNORE they way HDD are construced

  • this video has almost 3 years, please can someone tell me if this still is the best notebook cooler? I need something POWERFUL for this summer and I don't care about money! ty :)

  • 0:52

So my gaming pc is a buisness computer then? Hmm... Nice to know...

  • Great review dude! Definitely convinced me to get the NZXT Cryo LX.

  • I don't get it... is it mandatory to have these if you want to play games? It looks like it elevates the machine too much for the sake of comfort.

  • lol on my desk watching a youtube video here is mine:

CPU: 92 degrees Celsius and 192 degrees Fahrenheit

    CPU watching 720p movie:

    CPU: 200+ degrees Celsius

all without a cooler... getting my cooler soon

  • @C0DMedia 200+ degrees celsius? SURE LOL.

  • @projundertax i meant Fahrenheit

  • @ 7:20 "Very sturble" lmao

  • will a 15" work with it or no have a macbook pro core i5

  • you said this was for basically a 17 inch gaming notebook. does that mean it won't work well on my 15 inch? My laptop isn't really a gaming laptop, but I use it completely for gaming anyway and it works well. Should I get this because its the best one I've seen.

  • @ShadowClaw2324

I believe these cooling pads will handle any portable computer up to their maximum stated size. So your 15 inch machines should be cooler when used on that pad. One thing you might try is to add some sort of riser under the rear of your notebook to allow the built-in fan and cooling system to work. For me I am using a thick bar shaped rubber eraser until I can afford a metal cooling surface. Since adding the erasers to my dual core it hasn't overheated and shut off.

  • Great, thanks mate!

  • lol the pushing the cold air hehe be really god if u live in alaska

  • @mundane6812 i bet

  • I got 99'C CPU temp in assassin's creed.. hp dv7 2020 laptop I NEED a cooler :P

  • A cooler won't help you much, there is some other issue. Your CPU temp is very near the maximum threshold. You should check to make sure it is making proper contact with its heatsink and that it has correctly applied thermal paste on it. Also check the vents for dust.

  • Ok I'll check that out. I just need to open the case and all :P. But I'm buying that cooler too! I have books under my laptop to keep the airflow proper. It lowers my temps by 10'C

  • If the temps are already bad in your laptop then this is not the solution. You should look into cleaning out the vents, checking the components and possibly re applying some good thermal paste like MX-3. Undervolting can also help but I only recommend that on a stable system that is functioning as it should.

  • Id love one if could find one in the UK

    Great reveiw though

  • Kobaltcomputers co uk sell them in the UK for £60 + £5 shipping. It might take them a few days and you will need to contact them to make an order. They order them in when needed as opposed to stocking them on site.

  • sweet cheers mate :)

    not cheap hey lol

  • A cheaper alternative is the Zalman NC2000.

  • Yeah Kobalt did mention that but the fans are to low down for my laptop unfortunatly :(

  • 5:59... he said its gunna reduce the life of all the parts lol..

  • hes talkigng about heat

  • he says its going to reduce the life of all the parts.. thats like exactly what he said

  • exact words: you dont want to put heat into your laptop, its gonna reduce the life of all parts...

that was his exact words, i scrolled back, i dont want another comment from you saying that its not wht he said becuse i went back from the time you said he asmits it reduces the life of all parts so ya your a 10 year old who wont look back to see what is said before that, dont cal me a little kid because im 15, goodbye

  • what are you talkiong about u fucking homo.. i dint say anything about you being a kid.. aww your 15.. how cute.. i remember when i was 15

  • ohh i knew you were a 40 year od loser...anyways you were rong about what he said

  • @sgtdoink yeah heat tends to do that to computers

  • @Blake99xboxlive dont talk to me unless you know what your talking about... alright

  • i get 185 F help when i play L4F 2, can some one tell me if this thing can save my laptop?!!!! cuz i get alot of FRAPS LAG

  • hey WTF my PC :/

  • Just got mine few hrs ago as of right now well worth the money.

  • Ok just ran across this and td dont sell this or at least its not on the site page, but i did just order my Thermaltake CLN0008 Massive23 CS Aluminum Notebook Cooler and cant wait to get it fri

  • wow... 8min and you didnt even show or let us hear how is runs :(

  • @guitarfreakfalko "8min and you didnt even show or let us hear how is runs :("

Whiner, because the video is actually rather good and very detailed, only negative people like you always have something to complain...sigh

  • i JUST got mine from ebay... its amazing hugh and even without the fans on when i unboxed it you can easyly notice the cold laptop cooler... thats just beacuse of that it made of! =D i love my life

  • my laptop is up on 95degrees all the time when im playing any game

  • love it probly the best laptop cooler iv seen

  • lol if i get 1 im puting 3 more fans in it i use a 15 intch notebookit getshotter then my g71 17 intch gaming

  • %% Look it before this video : bit,ly/2YzOT4 Amazing ????

  • my laptop goes 100 degrees... albert make a video on how to clean notebook fans

  • take the case apart and use a damp paper town... remove the fan if u get anything wet in there your fucked

  • thay should try that with hp laptops

  • Should have also included a heat test without the fans running to get the passive cooling effect for the all aluminum cooling effect...

  • Hi,

    I'm from Brazil and i want this !!!!!!! =(

I'll buy a ASUS G71Gx-A1.. have you already a review of this? Or can you do something about?

    Best regards,

    João Junior

  • get the downgrade to the g51 i did it from my g71 and its alot more enjoyabull

  • i go desktop for gaming

  • $70 for a cooler?

  • @xwishmasterx2 Yes, the $70 is justified. Few coolers out there come close to what this baby does. The only close competitor is the Zalman NC-2000 which I've chosen to throw aside.

  • 2000$ for a new laptop when your old one overheats and bestbuy wont take it back?

  • When i turn the Fan to max it starts lowering the fan is this normal or what

  • Comment removed

  • cannot tell if it is normal, but mine does the same thing.

  • But if you do like I have done, be careful to make the connection to the USB hub, it can make you computer shutdown immediately because of the power from the adapter which connects to the USBs

  • I got this home 2 days ago. I really needed something to cool my notebook. I have got a HP pavilion dv7 which allways has a CPU temp from 78-108 degrees Celcius (according to Speedfan). This notebook cooler do NOT do any difference at all, as standard (only about 2 degrees). It actually is very quiet!! Instead of the normal power supply, I power it by a AC to DC adapter 12V 2A, this maked a great difference. My notebook CPU temp is now 62-94 degrees. Those fans really need more power than normal

  • A top tip if you get one of these is to turn it upside down, undo the four screws holding the fan assembly in place, remove the mesh grill above the fan - it just lifts out, and re-assemble - it increases the airflow by 30 - 40%, and reduces noise! also you will notice that air gets blown out of the sides - this is a waste, tape over the side mesh with black masking tape and where there is a gap between the mesh and the top plate, again improves airflow.

  • I bought one of these and though very expensive £59 in the UK it does cool really well, however it draws too much current from the onboard USB of my 15" and my 17" Macbook pros. (Even when they are plugged into mains) So basically it only works with a mains powered USB hub, which is a pain if you want to carry it around with you.

  • If you don't mind the weight, and USB power issue this device does the job and is probably the most effective cooler available. The fan speed of the mac dropped from around 6000rpm to 3000rpm under load for similar temps. After 30 mins steady state approx a 5 degree Celsius drop for case temp, CPU.

  • Wow...that thing...is huge :O.

    I WANT IT!!!

  • i need it now O__O

  • Don't do it! T_T

  • hmmm wat abt an antec notebook cooler? :O

  • Don't know much 'bout that. :-/

Heck, only laptop cooler I've ever had is the NZXT CRYO. I never even had a laptop cooler until I got that about two months ago, so I don't know too much about the other ones on the market.

All I know is that, at least as an active cooling unit and a HUB, the CRYO is crap.

  • I got one, It's freaking awesome. This with Arctic MX-2 Thermal Compound on the CPUs and the GPUs on my M1730, I dropped almost 20C. It's a huge difference.

  • hoow much this cooler?

  • I have the same laptop as albert and it gets fucking hot where the gpu is located. lol almost cant keep your hand there >_>

Im orderiing this cooler today. lol

  • pretty good cooler, got this for my alienware m17x and let me tell u it was worth every penny it keeps it cool!

  • la uso 4 horas seguidas ^^ con un cooler ^^ pero sin el cooler aw hasta 70ºC mejor comprar el cooler ^^ normal... luego q descanse 30 min y a seguir trabajando... ^^

  • hey can some 1 help me. is he reading the core temp or the cpu temp or the cpu local.

yah my idle is like 75*C

  • try undervolting

  • You could probably put a 360 on this bitch and prevent the RROD.

  • Only three problems...

    1. It's $70. I'm not sure if I want to spend that much

    2. He talks as much as Vince Offer, so you never get a chance to just listen to the machine

    3. I couldn't hear it very well. My laptop's fans are on full blast ;-)

  • Yah but think about it, you buy it, and its there for life.

  • Actually, I DID end up buying it, and I think it deserves mixed reviews.

    1. There's a reason he doesn't give you a chance to listen to it. This thing's loud. Much louder, in fact, than my laptop.

    2. You can't shut it off so long as the thing has power. No switch, no program, nothing. If it has power, the thing will run, even when your computer is in Sleep mode.

    3. The little wheel on the right of the cooler pretty much does nothing to alter fan speed

    4. The hub is tricky to work

  • So, I pretty much just put my laptop on it and use it for passive cooling, rather than use the loud fan.

In short, I paid $70 for what amounts to something that does very little of what's advertized. I'll still use it, and I won't return it, but for people considering whether or not to buy this, my advice is: DON'T. Buy something better to cool your laptop.

  • My laptop is 17 inch is this able too carry it safely

  • How much is this?

  • Nice review. Will get this one for my gaming laptop I'm getting :)

  • no... you get 3 more... 5 - 2... = 3

  • lol as he said it i was like, nooo 3.... :p

  • no u get 4 more theres 6 ports on the cooler 5 usb and an DC outlet to power the thing so that leaves 4 usb ports, so you lose 2 usb ports on your notebook but have 4 left on cooler, overall you just really gain 2 more usb ports

  • Wow my laptop must be a POS; 60C idle and over 90C load. ROFL, it's going to die any day now.

  • yo uso mi portatil como unas......... mmmmmmmmm........6 horas de corrido...y arde..parece el infierno xd

  • Thanks! Had to buy this unit because of YOU. My Qosmio X300 01-G (SLI) has it's fan inlets right where the Cyro supplies cool air upwards! Great push-pull. (that's what he meant btw, hitosawa ;) This cooler rocks. As does your review. Coolers that "suck" air down actually are fighting against most notebook airflow designs, including ones without bottom vents because the heat vented out back or sides can get sucked under notebooks and not help the cooling. So, kudos NZXT.

  • omg i love tigerdirect lollll, great services btw

  • Comment removed

  • he said the heat would, in other words, without the fan.

  • lol "crankin' on ur lap for like 2 hours in bed"

haha well I bouight htis cooler - the fans are barely audible, but even if you unplug it, it will cool ur laptop without the GIANT fans running!

u get a ton of airflow!

    this thing is NOT portable

i love the usb 2.0 port on the back

it is powered by my HP Pavilion dv7t (17" laptop)

  • is this quiet when fans running is it audible on low settings

  • Firstly, Celcius is the standard of measurement everywhere in the world except in the US. From the tests, 50C is 122 F, and 60 C is 140 F to give everyone an idea what he's talking about.

Secondly, this cooler is built as a 17" gaming laptop base station*, not for use on your lap, and has useful additional USB ports + comfortable tilt.

I just bought an Alienware M17, and this is the perfect cooler due to powerful fans, and the heat-transfer of its aluminum. There was nothing else that compared!

  • wat do u think about the nc 2000 by Zalman? :D i have gateway 7811fx and thinking of a cooler, but dont know which one should i get, any advice is appreciate!!!

  • i just bought this and it keeps my 8800m under 60*c, but the cpu still seems to get a bit warm.

  • this thing gets coolllldddd..perfect for gaming laptops

  • O.o Exactly HOW cold...?

  • cold enough....haha my comp runs 71 degrees on load without fan....with this fan on highest setting it runs at 51....its insane

  • i already bought one and was excited for it to arrive, but now i'm absolutely certain i made a good buy for my 17" laptop. thnx for putting up the review.

  • Looks great. Where can I buy and how much$ ?

  • it is very pricy !

  • The toshiba qosmio x300 (305 US) can handle crysis in high

  • fat albert

  • he speak like a all is AWESOME omg..what a stupid publicity

  • Where can i buy this great product. I can not find it in any retailer or website which are UK based

  • i also have this cooler for my 17 inch msi GX700, i took out the fans on the cooler and switched the fans around. it did better on that. my fans on the laptop also suck in from the bottom, and i did tests also and it did better when i turned them around and had them suck that hot air out.

  • what is the best gaming laptop on the market ?

  • id say Alienware BUT thats just my opinion. even tho they are made specifically for gaming there can be another brand thats better depending on how much you spend and what the specs are. but the Alienware are for out of the box gaming.

  • true, but not the best of the specs, most notably like the segar 9296 ?? idk.

but, im still looking for one that can handle crysis as much as my desktop does for my pop for christmas. lolz

  • Er... Not to sure, try some laptop forums, notebookcheck[.]com and notebookreview[.]com

I would guess either some ALienware or Dell XPS M1730 - Have a look around on these forums as im not to sure =]

  • lol 68c for load on CPU. Laptop C2Ds are made to withstand up to 100c so this is pointless for that laptop. I don't know about the GPU though...

  • they should make all fans spin that way because of the latop's cpu cooler draws air from the bottom instead of blowing beneath the laptop so all notebook cooler fans should spin that way

  • Nice table ! better than the other 1.

  • Thank you so much Albert! and TigerDirect! for replying to my email! I've had my eyes on this product, now i wanna buy it! beats my akasa! peace, ComputerTV FAN!

  • My Asus G1S' GPU sometimes went up to 100Celcius

  • Crysis on a laptop?

  • the Gateway FX models can run it at medium settings...i've got the M-6864FX

  • i've seen this before

  • SIMPLE if u have any tech knowledge you know that you could make this easily, jus find spare parts or search for em for the power connectors and u could prolly make it battery powered from a battery compartment from another machine.. idk but it is possible lol

  • great investment.

  • -.- lol couldnt u make this yourself? jus buy 3 120's

  • ah yes. no product is worth your money unless it is smexxy enough

  • i have a question about note book coolers

how the hell do they cool a note book by just pushing air to the bottom theres notting on the bottom but plastic or what ever ur notebook is madeout off air does not go through plastic

  • Nice =]

  • I used to use a xylophone as a cooler.

  • pshh . . . who uses Celcius?

  • Canadians do and most Canadians would say the opposite from what you said right there lol

  • ummmm the majority of people use Celsius... only retarded Americans use Fahrenheit.

  • Well, at least us Americans don't reduce ourselves to name calling.

  • Well put xD

  • I might get one of these and stick it in my desktop case instead of a side panel lol

  • fail

  • i could have sworn i saw him do this like 10 days ago

  • Dreaming eh?

  • what labtop do you have?

  • its a Gateway he did a review on it so look for it

  • this would be great for the dell xps m1730 WoW edition. the ultimate cooler for the ultimate laptop.

  • Dude.. ? you can play Wow on a Asus Eee PC... lol

  • very true but look up the specs on it, and watch the unboxing vid, they really make getting it a nice expirience, and its a gaming laptop, made to compete with the most expencive and high end DESKTOPS so u know its pwrfull. it comes with all sorts of WoW bonus content like books, magazines, soundtrack, a golden ticket to get a 3d snowglobe like pront of ur WoW character, a backpack, a power brick that looks more like a cinder block, and it looks really powerfull, like it waz made for dis cooler.

  • ive got a gateway p-6831 fx and its being cooled by my zalman zm2000 notebook cooler. its about $20 cheaper than this, and probably performs about the same.

  • nzxt = sexy

  • didnt he post this vid like a week ago?

  • nay

  • Nice, im sure this will help the over-heating Nvidia Chips on laptops. I might get it, i have GeForce 7150M

  • This looks really robust and awesome

  • :D This is what I've been looking for! *dies*

  • yes i was right

And i know i get thumbs down for that too
