  • So true. That's why we are setting aside 500 of our 750 acres in the Village on Sewanee Creek as a nature preserve and encouraging each home to install a rainwater collection system. Keeping water on the mountain is of critical importance.

  • Siyu! I was born in Sewannee many years ago. Those falls were always beautiful. The mountain top there is mostly limestone, and the influx of building of folks moving to the moutain has depleted the water reservoir, causing many once living falls to perish. This combined with the drought has been deadly. I am currently living in NC, near some other relatives of mine. But thank you for posting! Maybe others will realize the desperate plight of the water table on the mtn.
