  • may anyone post the lyrics and english translate?

  • seig heil. greek for ever stay white.

Nazi SS was the best help for the true greeks.

out with the gipsy and turks from greek.

  • @sonofMegaAlexandros

You support the Nazis, and you have the audacity to call yourself a real Greek? The Nazis massacred thousands of Greek civilians, they stole all of Greece's crops and started a famine in which thousands more starved to death. Everyone in Greece fought against the nazis. except *traitors* like yourself

  • @TheTollundWoman

you stupid, not the real greek fights against the Nazis.

the turks which lives in greek was fight aganinst Nazis.

even today there is many turks in greek, the say they are greek, but there face is not erurop, this are turks and gipsy from asia and turks, out of the from greek.

Thats way Nazi helps the true greek.

  • @sonofMegaAlexandros

Are you telling me Metaxas, the Greek Monarchy and the Greek Orthodox Church, all of whom actively helped the resistance against the nazis, were all secretly "turks from asia"?

If thats really what you think you're the best comedian in modern history. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time...

  • @sonofMegaAlexandros

Also if the Greek resistance fighters were all turks, why was Turkey itself neutral throughout the war? why did Ataturk refuse to help fight the Nazis?

  • @TheTollundWoman

they say that they are greek, but it is a lie.

There face are not from europ this are shit gipsy from turkey and asia which just life in greek, out of them SIEG HEIL, is the best way.

  • @sonofMegaAlexandros

If you were a true Greek, you wouldn't be speaking German.

  • @TheTollundWoman

my blud and my looking is true greek.

not gypsi like the most today in greek.

  • @sonofMegaAlexandros really and how does a true greek looks like??..have you seen a ancient greek in person??..I guess you look nothing like them..I look like a true greek and you look like shit..and try to proove otherwise..and because there is no way to do so shut up and stop talking about "true greeks"..you probably have genes from 3 or 4 different nations in you..it is so stupid to talk about "pure" things nowdays after 5000 different nations have passed from greece

  • @sonofMegaAlexandros your not making yourself clear but i understand you mate.

  • As a Greek I would appreciate it if you recognized and noticed the British soldiers in the video and wars. The British with Churchill helped Greece ALOT during WW2 and helped prevent the deaths of probably thousands of innocent Greek civilians...

  • @TomCat2800

i agree, anyone who helped fight the nazis is a hero, it shouldn't matter what political party they belonged to or what nation they were from, anyone who fought the nazis is a hero!

  • gamato tragoudi!!!!pos legetai???

  • W EAM -ELAS!

    W the glorious resistance..

The battle rages on for social justice, freedom and socialism! In Greece and everywhere!

  • Long live the resistance! May fascism be defeated everywhere.

  • Αχ ρε παππου...

  • @AntifaKelly akrivws ayto skeftika kiegw!!!

  • I don't want to offend anyone due to my American ignorance, but does every Eastern European resistance song sound like Po Dolinam i Po Vzgoriam?

  • Ther are may other songs but most resistance was organized by communists thus they copied and pasted from their political motherland

  • I see.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 Some of them are simply versions of Soviet songs. But there are also others, very nice, original songs.

  • What are the names of some? Not that I don't believe you, I just want to listen to them.

  • @MaoiMeowi2: we're not eastern but southern

  • ...couldn't we both just say south-eastern?

  • COngratulations

Very good stuff. For not being Greek you teach many Greeks the truth! Bravo. Those partizans were the real Greek Anti-Nazi and Anti-Fascist resistance.

  • very good video ,, ty for made it ..

  • Go fuck yourself albanian scum

  • italy albania bulgaria and skopie join the axis and attack to greece at the same time but they take our balls once again

  • @MazarDino

so there were greek collaborators? shame...

    long live the resistance!

    death to fascism

  • The Greeks deserve the deepest respect. They were one of the few that didn't disgraced themselves by creating a Waffen SS division. Best regards from Poland.

  • Thank you Polish Friend

  • I know greek history. In the video are all the greeks, communists, conservatives, liberals..., all the greeks who fight the fascism. Obviously, is a message for the partisans, not for 1 party or ideology. The song is communist because is the only song that i found.

  • @carlosdomin conservative resistance to the Nazis was very limited... 6 months... more importantly conservative elements served nazi interests immediately after the surrender of the Greek military while leftists fought the nazis for years after.

  • @carlosdomin

Despite all its shortcomings, Communism, compared to Nazism is the "lesser of two evils." I'm against Communism as an ideology, but I respect the communists who fought against hitler

  • @carlosdomin Correct you do knw Greek history which goes beyond polical ideology.. the defence of the nation is above polical parties, something that todays Greeks do not understand & fighteach other for some few elites interests. SHAME ON ALL OF US!

  • @carlosdomin well, since partisans were communists, it is rather inevitable not to refer to communism. it's ok though. things could be far worse. you may had to refer to neoliberal capitalism for crying out loud.

  • VIVA GRECIA,POR CIERTO SOY GRIEGO

  • the song is a lilte bit

irrelevant........its more relevant to the civil war................i was wondering how the creator find this song???? its a commounistical one that they singing it by commounists side in the civil war

  • This song was the only greek song i found when i made the video. I dont speak greek, i dont understand anything :(. I know the song is communist, but in the video are some pictures (0:35, for example) of the civil war

  • (Part 3) Everywhere the Homeland has sent me guard and a revenger too and from my impetus rises a new free life. Damn him that he will threaten me with slavery and shame death I have suppressed, I do not know what fear means. With my rifle at the shoulder, the day will shine , it wont be long to open the street for freedom, in order to pass all of the land.
  • (Part 2)

    A song is your breath

while in the ridge you walk

    and from your voice resound

    hearts and plains E.L.A.S. E.L.A.S.

    With thousand names one charm

    akritas or armatolos

    rebel, kleftis, lad

    i'ts always the people itself

  • HYMN OF ELAS (translation part 1)

With my rifle at the shoulder

    in cities plains and villages

I clear the road for freedom

I lay her bay-leaves and she passes.

    March E.L.A.S. for Greece

    righteousness and freedom

    in mountainpeaks and in valleys,

    fly,fight with your heart

  • dime hellas25 a q te prefieres?

  • Can someone pls translate the words?

sorry for the mistakes i try to translate but the was a lot of idioms and informal method of writting that make the translation more difficult

  • hola, eres griego tu tambien? de frikada nada tenemos que estar orgullosos de lo que nuestros abuelos hicieron.

  • Jebem vam "grško" mater nacistično genocidno! Ponarejevalci zgodovine!

  • Great vid Comrade. All glory 2 Greek Partisans.

  • Well Done my friend and thank you very much!! "με το τουφέκι μου στον ώμο, σε πόλεις, κάμπους και βουνά, της λευτεριάς ανοίγω δρόμο, της στρώνω βάγια και περνα..."

  • Glory to them!!!

    Long live the Allies!!!

    Greetings from Slovenia.

  • So, 'Go with God, freaks'? At least he/she is wishing well.. :)

  • What does FRIKADA mean?

  • Like freak

  • VAYA FRIKADA X DIOS..

  • Go with Germany? And end up all in the crematoria because we (Greeks) are 'racially unpure'(not that I believe in such garbage as race superiority)? Do you have any idea what your 'friends' (the Germans) did throughout Europe?

  • It was a time of national uprising and one of disastrous, fratricidal infighting. What an irony that such an epic chapter in the history of the nation was blackened by the horrors and abuses of the Civil War that followed. Someone has said that the worst enemy of the Greeks is themselves. 1941-1949 definitely proves that point.

  • 4august, go suck your thumb.

PolemarchosXI, what the hell do Kyrill and Methodios have to do with 1941?

  • just are remark on stealing...

my other statements should be sufficient to explain my research on the topic

  • Greek ELAS fighters were heroes, but mislead by bad leaders. Common partisan thought he was fightinf for Greek freedom and then became puppet of political goals of their commanders.

97% of EAM ELAS were patriots, that barely understood the difference between communism and democracy. They just wanted to hunt down Axis troops, not to embark on a civil war, that was manufactured by our Allies.

Why did EDES negotiated peace with Löhr in Ioannina in 1943? Edes has too some black moments

  • What the hell are you talking about? I don't know you wrote the song but if it's Soviet so waht? Dozens of soviet songs where translated to local languages and sung in spain, greece, Germany, wherever there were communists and a worker's movement. Have you heard of the INTERNATIONALE? What is your problem?

  • without greek resistance to Italians no Yugoslav revolution in 1941.

Without Kyrill and Methodus no Slav language.

    who steals from whom, friend?

  • Go fuck yourself Denis

  • Denis my grandad was in charge of the artilery. He bombed many motherfuckers like you

  • superbe !!!!!!!!!!

  • Honor y gloria a los comunistas que constituyeron la resistencia en Grecia y en todos los países ocupados de Europa. Larga vida al Partido Comunista.

  • Regardless, I'm proud of my people's rising up as one to meet the foreign invader. I, too, am happy that Greece did not end up Communist at the end of WW II. But the epic of the Resistance and the sacrifices of the ordinary people that comprised it, in my opinion, will never be blackened by the shortsightness and ulterior motives of a compromised leadership.

  • Eventually the movement was compromised by the inexperience and vacillations of the the leadership of the Communist Party. They surrendered at Varkiza, then decided it was too much and went on a compromised offensive when it was too late.

  • EAM and ELAS were the only organizations left to provide for the impoverished and famished general population. When the song goes like "EAM saved us from hunger, now it will deliver us from slavery", it not an exageration: EAM was a bonafide popular movement with overwhelming support in the countryside and a trained army of 20,000 men.

  • Mazover states however a dark epic of EAM/ELAS actions agaisnt the Germans. Villagers were not informed about impending attacks on the Axis and so were often caught by suprise by Axis retaliations. Furthermore EDES and EAM/ELAS punished farmers for handing out supply to the other respective guerilla forces. Thats the reality of small war, often unnoticed in the hymns on both sides. Sometimes Greeks were harsher on civilians than the Axis, not on purpose but by mere negligence.

  • ELAS was the armed branch of EAM. EAM , though dominated by the Communist Party (KKE), included many other lesser organizations like the Agricultural Party (Agrotiko Komma Elladas). Not everyone in ELAS was a Communist but they all fought to rid the country from the foreign invader.

  • ELAS fighters were fighting the Nazis but even moreso were willing to trade the fascist dictatorship for the Soviet. Do not thank God for anything but their demise. Whatever the Americans and English did to our Mother Greece pales beside what the Communists would have done if Greece had fallen behind the Iron Curtain. ELAS was terribly simplistic.

  • I honour greek soldiers. Who was the ones who first of all defeated the fascist italy, wich delayed and ruined the german campaign. What made it winter quarters at moscow, what saved the world.

Greeks werent many, but they gave hope to the entire continent.

  • Sto Hellas. Efkharisto poli for this slide show who shows the resistance of a people who changed the outcome of the IIWW, from the war against the italians, the Okhi day and the resistance.

    Kheri, o kheri, elefteira.

  • So good THANKS..

  • Muchas gracias, amigo. Euharistoume poly. Nice song too, never heard it before. It praises the working class as the forerunner in the national-liberational struggle. Great photos of Greek troops participating in WW II and ELAS resistance fighters. God bless.

  • Thank you
