I just seen them play on Canada Day 2011 in Moncton New Brunswick Canada. If I had one word to describe this band,it would be "Immortal".These guy's played 90% of their greatest hit's and they still had a huge crown on Main St. Rock'n and Roll'n that night and they sound'd just like they did back when..This award was way overdue!
I remember April Wine from about 1980. They were really Canada's answer to REO Speedwagon or the more commercial Nugent stuff with Derek St. Holmes. I don't think they ever rose to the standard of Rush or even Triumph, and Loverboy came along and were just plain better at the American rock game. That said, April Wine deserve credit for some memorable songs and albums.
awesome to see these guys given the honors they deserve. I remember buying my 1st album of theirs in 1982, it made me want to run, race my car ,have sex and cheer all at the same time! How can ya not love April Wine?!
CONGRATS . Well deserved. Saw the group in Regina in the mid 70's and again last night. Great to hear the songs again, just wish they would have sang Weeping Widow, Drop Your Guns, I Wouldn't Want to Lose Your Love, and You Won't Dance With Me. Ah well.
Dave Cameron is a good man on all accounts. I know him. He is a best friend. April Wine just rocks. Good old fashioned rock n' roll. Hey Dave your head looks bigger on camera than it does in person. Cheers Dave!
Awesome Job Myles and Brian! You guys certainly deserve that Juno Award ~ putting out so much great rock'n'roll music over the decades ~ thank you for keeping us rocking real! Lot's of love, and it was so great being there with you!
Another great import from Canada. Harder Faster and Nature Of The Beast were roller rink staples growing up even here in Texas. Rock on April Wine. If you see Kay tell her I want her. lol.
These guys should be in the rock and roll hall of fame not just the Canadian one there music is that good. I mean if Michael Jackson or Madonna are in there why cant a real under appreciated rock band get in there. These guys need to be recognized for what they have accomplished. One of the most underrated music groups ever.
fuck man, i love april wine. im wanting to see them when they come thru town this year but they sold out a 600 seat place in 2 hours. im fuckin mad, they shouldve played a concert hall instead :(
Very well deserved!
