Why, Hondas are great cars, I am sick of haters on both sides. Heres the facts, a Civic Si will beat a tC if it is redlined(only if its redlined, all power if at like 7,000+rpms), but a Civic EX(thats costs a LITTLE MORE than a tC, is slower). @jojoboyj The best time at my local drag for a stock 7th generation Si was 15.9. I, and many other tC owners, have done 15.1-15.2 in a stock tC. It may be a 'little' lighter but it has much less TQ. It maxes out at 132mph and the tC maxes out at 27mph. There pretty much the same performance at stock. 1/4 mile, 0-60, and other stats are VERY similar. Also, there are ALOT of 7th gen Si's in my area and I've never lost to one. I've raced more of those Si's than any other model car.

depends on what you want. Scion offers a little more 'bang for your buck' in terms of luxury. Their standard sound system is good, nice comfy seats and a reasonable engine and mpg. Now the new generation civics offer that spacy feel, and a great MPG, altough you don't have any HP or torque, it compensates on the fuel pump. Up to you. both have good insurances and safety features.

top end the scion cannot hang with a b16 or higher. i had a 3rd gear pull with a scion and i it gets walked pretty easy. i know the toyota 2.4 L has low end torque but it can't match rpms and high end power on any jdm block.
jdm has 10 extra hp then usdm!. Actually the tc will hang with b16 hey both have the same hp and both stock do 15.7 according to Car and Driver reviews! and also vvt-i are great in mid-range & high range

my argument wasn't about usdm. you see from my first comment that i said that scions can get one over on usdm older version civics like the b16si.10 extra horses... it's more to it than that.you have rev limiting issues along with compression ratios. a civic hx weighs like2300 to 2400 pounds, with a b16 swap that's a big advantage over a scion in the long run. it's always on the driver but not even much with this car. p.s. there's a reason Japan keeps jdm engines stronger than usdm.

We don't need a 2jz or a motor swap at all to be fast dude. Slap a turbo onto the stock motor, and 10 PSI will get you into the 12sec range with good tires. 12's are not fast to me by the way. When I hit 11's THEN I will say it's decently fast for an everyday driver.

depends on what you want. Scion offers a little more 'bang for your buck' in terms of luxury. Their standard sound system is good, nice comfy seats and a reasonable engine and mpg. Now the new generation civics offer that spacy feel, and a great MPG, altough you don't have any HP or torque, it compensates on the fuel pump. Up to you. both have good insurances and safety features.

top end the scion cannot hang with a b16 or higher. i had a 3rd gear pull with a scion and i it gets walked pretty easy. i know the toyota 2.4 L has low end torque but it can't match rpms and high end power on any jdm block.

yeah i hear about vvt-i but it's notworking up to 8 or 9K rpm. vtec still has an edge over it, plus weight on the hondas with b16 swaps are usually pretty damn low.jdm b16s do lower than 15.7 you are talking about usdm i assume.

my argument wasn't about usdm. you see from my first comment that i said that scions can get one over on usdm older version civics like the b16si.10 extra horses... it's more to it than that.you have rev limiting issues along with compression ratios. a civic hx weighs like2300 to 2400 pounds, with a b16 swap that's a big advantage over a scion in the long run. it's always on the driver but not even much with this car. p.s. there's a reason Japan keeps jdm engines stronger than usdm.

The Supra sold poorly because it was way overpriced when it came out. The S2k doesn't sell well either. As awesome as these cars are, they don't (didn't) really make a profit.

i got my evo 9 MR at a tag at 34k but a regular evo 9 will be around 25k yes i agree the new evos lost its good looks and is slower and the new evos price is a 45k for MR and 35k for GSR. and as for the sti its pretty good same price tag at the evo but the sti is hard to control. btw i have a evo 9 MR metalic grey. grey matches with the evo 9 MR pretty well

I didn't say anything about Hondas being in general being crappy. I said it takes a motor swap for a Civic to do things. How much boost can a d16 handle? A stock b16 Civic would not SMOKE a scion bro. All stock b16 motor from what I gather would run mid 15's in the 1/4 mile. A tC runs 15.1 - 15.2 with a good driver.

By the way.....a GSR integra runs the same times stock vs stock that a tC does. A PERFECT driver in a GSR MAY get a 14.8 - 14.9 at best. But other than that, it runs the same as a tC.

Last time I checked a 1.6L or 1.8L Teggy does not weigh 2900lbs dude....LOL. Way heavier, you don't even know shit about your own fan boy cars....geesh. Your buddy should learn to drive if he looses to a stock Teggy. I let my girl drive and we raced a friend of ours with an older 4 door teggy who had a B16 motor + intake, header AND exhaust. He lost, not by much, but he lost. We went from a low speed roll. tC torque > than teggy torque. My tC was BONE stock during that race by the way.

We don't need a 2jz or a motor swap at all to be fast dude. Slap a turbo onto the stock motor, and 10 PSI will get you into the 12sec range with good tires. 12's are not fast to me by the way. When I hit 11's THEN I will say it's decently fast for an everyday driver.
