My spent the night at my friends house once and his mom ran in crying and said the ferrets got into the ac unit somehow or something like that. All I know is my friend said three of his ferrets got chopped up into a million pieces in a fan and the chunks were thrown about down stairs. Remember to ferret proof your house as well as possible. Unless you want a ferret fiasco on your hands.

Ferrets ARE cage animals. They can and will get into everything, and eat things that can harm them such as wires. They should be kept in a cage at all times, unless they are being supervised.

My parents own a pet store, and I have owned ferrets for years. I have three right now. You can't completely ferret proof your house. They can eat anything, they could even run out of your house if someone happens to open your door. Anything could happen to them. If you care enough, you will always supervise them when they are out. Ask a vet.
