Michigan was rated #1 in the Sports Illustrated almanac of 2010.If you look at 1997 it says Michigan is ranked #1 12-0 and 13-0 Nebraska finished #2 in the final AP Poll.

I completely disagree with that, if Brian Griesie wasn't the QB in the Colorado game to start the season we don't win that game. He was hungry for a chance to start and wanted to prove all the critics wrong. Brady wasn't ready for the starting job when he got it the next season, his first two games were terrible.

The blocked extra point is what i remember as being the real game changer in this game. I was in the car at the time w/ my family, we had watched the first half @ my uncle's house (Michigan Alum) then we went home and WSU had scored which had us down a bit, but when they blocked the kick, i said to myself all we have to do is get seven and we'll be alright, we get home turn on the TV and sure enough we get seven and win.

I hope no cornhusker fans come rollin around bitchin and complainin that they should be number 1 that year! We were clearly the number 1 team. Not our fault there was no BCS at the time to match us both up. And if it weren't for a miracle catch at Mizzou, they wouldn't of even had the chance to get the share of the national title!!!!!!
