Krishnamurti had a lot of similar insights and ideas about the nature of consciousness, humanity, and personal obligation to novelty and creativity that Terence McKenna did.
I could spend an entire day just watching speeches and seminars by either of those two...I already spend a lot of time reading them.
I read a lot of Jiddu's work and i dont see how it is simillar to Terrance. Terrance tells us that we need some type of drugs to get the truth. Jiddu shows you that it is aready there its just our conditioning that gets in the way.
Im not sure I agree that McKenna believed that you "need some type of drugs to get the truth." He definitely advocated free experimentation with psychedelics as a reliable means of removing one's ego and experiencing different modes of consciousness, but in all his books that I've read, he doesnt insist upon drugs as the only way to "get the truth."
Where I see a parallel is in the last belief you just attributed to Krishnamurti; Terence espoused this view quite a bit himself.
As far as a particular book I'd go with "The Archaic Revival." It includes a lot of his lectures which also touch on that theme. For the lectures themselves, I'd recommend "The Psychedelic Society" and "Dreaming Awake at the Edge of Time."
