What about neural connections in our brains? If Alzheimer's is the breakdown of neural activity (obviously bad), is there anything detrimental that could happen by increasing the number of connections/pathways between neurons? Has there been any reported side effects from excessive neural connectivity?
@lonestarrunner -- Too little is retardation, etc. Too much or too many is anxiety followed by obsessions followed by compulsions (or hypomania and mania) and finally loss of touch with reality and the outside world, which is of course is psychosis. (More input from the inside appears real to the person than input from the outside.)
