Had it happen to an opponent yesterday. Lucky for me. I was going at link with a flame choke and he did the final smash. It looked like I was caught in it just as the Lucas behind me tried to grab me and all of a sudden we were all just standing there looking at each other. Very strange. I'll post it as a response, because I want to know what causes it.

it happens, the Final Smash is not a failure, It's better in mid air a little far since Link can catch people from far away.

It hapens to me one time, but I Was DK i dont know waht button Pressed, but the FS wes Cancelled and the link Die O.o

Its a good thing to be able to dodge the final smash, i'd rather just take the damage myself then have the full power of it work.

I've had this happen by accident once and was able to replicate it many times. It WAS a dodge. If you do the down dodge right when the FS would cause that short freeze, that will happen. Look at Falco, you can clearly see him doing the dodge. It works with Toon Link too, but the timing is different.

The fact that it came from a CPU, however, is surprising.

No, that was a grab break action. I believe that was a fear effect break.

how can you record things while your playing the game?

I use a TV Capture Box, which connects my TV to my Laptop, and i use an application to record it. In this scenario i saved the replay of the "glitch" and replayed it and recorded it to the laptop. ebay sells them cheap.

He may have shined it. Fox and Wolf both have invincibility frames at the beginning of their shields, maybe Falco does too.

First of all, I realized that it is definitely not invincibility as he took damage.

It is, however, super armor. I tested Falco's shield against Link's FS and with perfect timing Falco takes 30% damage and the FS ends.

I could not get it to work from farther away but using the spacing in this video I got an exact replication.

If you want to try it, Falco's down b must be used the instant before the line shows up in Link's FS.

Possibly, the falco thing has worked but ive done it in Mid air to a GANNONDORF while he was falling from his UP B attempt. The same thing occured in the air. And it has happened to zelda, mario, ike, and wario as well. ( with me that is ) so what shield did they use???

nah, because damage wouldnt apply if he did. You CAN dodge links final but when you do it doesnt even start up.

maybe he dodged at the last second, like it slashed him barely cuz it does take up a few seconds...like it wuz just a slash instead of a triforce slash

no, that isnt it. there is no after slash after the light beam. also, the triforce trap appeared for a split second, which means it had to have connected.

no he didnt, there was no shield and i want you to try shielding a final smash...

Yeah i can't explain it, its not the opponent dodging it either cause i saved a replay of Gannondorf using his up B and while hes coming back down i used the final, you see the triforce but nothing happens, i guess it could just be a glitch after all.

I did it on slow motion and I saw the triforce thing go to my opponent and I dont know what he did but it stopped in front of him and dissapeared.
