OMG, attben, I'm not sure who you are but THANK YOU. Its funny how the slightest sound can bring back a flood of memories. And with this album, you've unleashed a tempest. THANK YOU. And might I add, where has all the good music gone?
i hate how everyone thinks that Chris has gotten worse since he's been gone on with D/C. Chris has written the MOST amazing lyrics ever, and his talent is unbelievable. Watch his recent recorded concert videos here on YouTube. I've never seen a crowd so in touch with an artists music. They know every word and every beat to his songs. Though, leaving Further was a not so smart move, Chris recognized that -- he is back with Further. The original line-up.
I nearly shat myself when I bought this and discovered that FSF was basically Strongarm w/Chris Carabba. Amazing musicians. No matter what style music.
i think lyrically the interpolation of both piercing love lines and imagery-intense simile and metaphor push chris' lyrics in 'the moon is down' beyond anything he's written recently, putting it right up there with 'the swiss army romance' in terms of possibly the best albums of my late teens / early twenties.
Lost it? How could chris have lost it? All he did for these guys was the vocals and a damn good job of them but Dashboard is Chris doing his own thing and its much more powerful than this. Dusk and Summer does have a similar feel to these tunes.
@attben agree...weird thing for me is i think further seems forever stopped being good after he left and chris carabba stopped being any good after he left further seems forever. emo died in '98
Seriously? Chris' best work was this album IMO, coming from a huge Dashboard Confessional fan, at least for the first few albums. FSF was the only reason I ever paid any attention to DC. Further Seems Forever is miles above Dashboard to me.
this brings me back to cruisin myrtle beach and every listened to rap and i always blared FSF on my speakers...

more powerful? how old are you?
attben 2 years ago
@attben he's probably referring to the intensity of his song, both lyrically and musically......10 years and six albums later he's made his own name
