Avey Tare leave the band? What are you, stupid? He's the main songwriter and main vocalist. Most of Animal Collective's hits: Fireworks, Summertime Clothes, Peacebone, all of them were sung and written by Avey Tare. I don't know what this obsession with Panda Bear is. He's great and Person Pitch was great but don't respond badly to Avey Tare. The collective would not be much without him.

their live stuff sounds like it never really starts, i think they need to increase the drum valume & a whole bunch of other stuff. all you can hear are (awful) vocals & the occasional *boop boop* thing

I think you mean avey tare - I agree, he's definitely not such a singer as panda bear is, sometimes he really sings rather bad and funny.. but! there are actually moments (especially higher tones, seems to me) when he pulls it off really well and especially when it merges with panda it's simply bliss cause avey (and panda too) puts everything into it - and these great moments, imho, really make up for those worse ones.

My Girls is amazing. I am also really loving Summertime Clothes + Daily Routine.

The whole album is amazing, but those 3 songs really stand out for me.

the album is FANTASTIC. however, i prefer this version of My Girls. It's not so processed, like the album version. Both are great, but for different reasons.

the new way avey is singing is not as enjoyable as its former incarnation, but the song has tightened up in a bunch of little ways

I would've killed to have gone to this. I finally got to see these videos last week and finally someone posted this song. This is the best of the new batch, just an amazing vibe and Noah's and Avey's vocals are out of this world. AC is THE band.
