There was much progress since then. I saw him yesterday with The Works. One can only wonder at the amount of work one needs to emulate what was one of the best rock singers of all time. It requires power, range, endurance, and Mullen's got them all.

I was brought up on Queen songs, but was too young to see the real Queen before Freddie passed away. Saw Gary Mullen last year, and it's the best concert i've ever been to! Me and my mum in the 2nd row, dancing, singing, and they put on such a good show. Well done Gary, you're a star!!!

This guy is great. I read that hen was obsessed with Queen and Mercury's singing from an early age. I can't help but wonder if such an obsession shapes your singing voice as you get older. Probably why half of the singers in indie bands nowadays sound like Jeff Buckley imitators.

I don't know if this is true or not but this is what I read on Wikipedia:

Brian May himself has written "Gary bears a remarkable likeness to Freddie, not only in emulating Freddies unique stage persona but also accurately reproducing Freddies live vocal style and range."

When asked about One Night of Queen, Queen's Drummer Roger Taylor jokingly said that Gary puts more Freddie into a show than Freddie himself did, and he hopes Gary won't put the real Queen out of a job.

Always been a big Queen Fan and happy to know that there are people out there keeping the legend live... I always wished I could have been old enough to have been at Live aid when Queen stole the show...I hope I will be lucky enough to see GaryMullenAsFreddie if he comes to Italy!!! Just seen Gary and One Night of Queen at Scarborough.....blo*dy 'eck like.....what a voice..what a stage presence...and what a rockin' night. I was fortunate to see Queen in Dortmund around 1979..I closed my eyes for a few seconds during one of the songs...and I felt I was back there again.

Any Queen fans out there...these lads are a must see...any non queen fans...these lads are still a must see.

In this video he's a little pitchy during A Kind Of Magic, but now after a few years of practice (I just saw him on his concert in Palm Beach), he's the real deal for the Queen and Mercury nostalgics such as me.

Gary Mullen is amazing at what he does, I've seen him and his band The Works twice and the spirit of Freddie lives on in this man. He does everything to a tee.
