In 20 years FYROM has been unable to provide a single piece of archaeological or historical evidence to prove the link between the Bulgar-Slavs of FYROM (or indeed ANY Slavs) and the ancient Macedonians. "macedonia" was an invention by Tito to unite the Bulgarians and Albanians within the boundaries of Yugoslavia, before 1944, no one referred to a Macedonian ethnicity in the territory.
That wouldn't have been a problem if 1/5 of Greece's population (2 millions) weren't Macedonians themselves.
