Its a shame it off the air. But I suspect that its cost outweighed its income to SyFy. As a result, though, SyFy is losing my interest. No space-based dramas... As much as I hate Ghost Hunters, its a cash cow for SyFy. And they'll keep making it. And I'll keep tuning out. The last great hope for good Science Fiction on TV in Fall 2011 is Fox's "Terra Nova." Boy... here's hoping!!!!

Sorry to read that SyFy cancelled Stargate Universe. It was picking up nicely and I figured it would be as successful as Atlantis was if not more. Would be great if MGM could find another network to continue Universe.

@arshnar This didn't cost MGM a dime. It was done over a weekend by the vfx artist who did the original aliens for the show, just for fun. The sound mix was also done for free because we all love the show and have a good time working on it. Some talented, enthusiastic people working on the show.

and just curious.. its hard to tell with the video... but it looks like as much detail was put into this out take as was into the actual aliens in the episode.. is that true... or did you guys use a less complicated model to make the animation less time consuming? Even if you did.. it still looks AMAZING!

If Universe doesn't drop the character building drama and start adding more Sci-Fi, Universe's ratings won't be high enough to make MGM want more seasons. :-(

I love all StarGate shows and movies, but it's supposed to be a Sci-Fi show, not a drama.... :-( Be warned: The same thing just happened to Caprica = too much talking, not enough action and Sci-Fi stuff going on. If viewers want to watch drama shows, there are plenty of Soap tv series to watch.

@sg1efc The show is a sci-fi show, much more so than SG-1 and Atlantis ever were. Science fiction is about exploring the human condition using these fantastical sci-fi situations, not aliens and pew pew lasers. I assume when you say 'more sci-fi' you really mean 'more action'.

I just learned SyFy cancelled Universe. They are a bunch of buttheads. Universe was really great for this second season. I hope MGM can find a real network to continue Universe on. SyFy channel is a joke that only cares about ratings. They really need to drop the word SyFy, as it is really the Ghost-Wrestling channel.
