Speed MIDI editing with SONAR 7's Smart MIDI Tools

OMG! HEAVEN.. I can have just as fast midi editing as in FL with Sonar! Why didn't anybody tell me?? Beginning to really like this daw.. maybe this is the one for me actually.. I've tried them all except logic, sonar and reaper..

@vendurain Sonar got simply brilliant from version 3. It's always been highly, highly customisable though and the MIDI tools are the best around in my opinion.

Hi. can you help me please. I have a E-MU tracker pre. and sonar 6 but they're not working together, why? i tried going to Options>audio>Advanced and then clicking on Asio driver mode but when i want to click Ok the window ignores my action and keeps on popping up again. please reply

im not sure about your but have you tried using the enigma software that commes with ur m audio ? i have a trigger finger and it works great

Can you please tell me how I can sycn Sonar 7 with my MPC 2000? meaning when I hit the play button on the mpc, it will start Sonar to record or when I hit the record button in sonar it will trigger the mpc, this will be a great help...

1 You need to connect the two via MIDI (both in and out) 2. You need to use SONAR's ACT feature (MIDI Learn) so that the record button on SONAR's transport is linked to the Play button on the MPC. Watch the ACT videos that we have here on the site to learn more about this feature.

Hi! I dont know if you will respond to this. But i am having a problem with MIDIs on sonar 7 producers edition. Is there a way i can snap a bunch of midis to fit the tempo perfectly? If that makes sense? Align them, so to speak.

Yes the feature you want to use is called Quantize.

Took you guys a while, but you finally got there with the MIDI editing. ;-)

Having spent many years flipping between different sequencers, it's been great to finally settle on SONAR. It's fantastic to go from start to finish in the one application and SONAR finally hits that sweet spot. Great work guys. :)

Thankyou for the honest reply and apology, the comments I post are truly meant to be constructive, even if they don't always read that way. I am an ardent fan of Sonar, not out of loyalty but because I believe it to be the best. BTW, thankyou for the midi meters.

No thank you for writing back, I felt bad. I'm going to talk to customer service tomorrow about the incorrect info they gave you. We have some new people there and they may not realize that upgrades can be bought at Sweetwater, AudioMIDI or from some european dealers

How come when we see a still picture of sonar it's on vista, yet a working demo is on xp? hmmmmmm.....

Because the camtasia copy Brandon was using is a number of years old and isn't Vista compatible. Any more questions?

That really is no way to respond to a loyal customer of many years, especially as I have in the last few hours, just ordered Sonar 7 on line. Lucky for me I took no notice of you yesterday when you told me on the phone that I couldn't buy it at the update price from anyone but cakewalk. You know guys, you've got a good product but your support is non- existent. This attitude explains why. It's not just me that has noticed the vista problems, read your own forums.

Hey, I'm sorry about that. We get alot of fans of other programs heckling us or posting negative comments on our pages. I usually delete the negative comments or the oness that imply we're doing something dishonest, which is how I interpreted yoru comment.
