  • why the rubber glove?

  • okay, now imagine that being your arm....

  • Remind me when I'm learning to do a forehand and backhand in tennis. This kid uses a sword instead lol

    Really great kid

  • Wow, fist time I have ever seen a child truly raised in the art of the sword.

He's nearly ready for dogs/criminals already.

  • Hi! I have a few questions about swords.

For your kid's sword, who are the smiths of their swords? And your personal own sword, who made your sword? How much would they go for in Yen to US dollars? Just wondering if you have your own choice of swordsmiths and sword polisher. Nice cutting!!

  • I'm 18 years old. Practicing for 5 years now. And still... this little budy kicks my ass...

  • very impressive

  • 10 years old?!? his technique is awesome!!!

he is sometimes looking at the tip of the sword to judge better how to cut the target, and his formal performance is not fully develloped yet.

but if he keeps on practicing, he will be a true master of the art in a few years.

  • Good job.

  • you gotta remember that a regular katana like that can be a lot for a 10 year old kid, unless he's using a shorter one (it doesnt look like a wakizashi though)

  • When ever he did the "finishing cut", then.. why did he look at the sword? Don't you more have to feel the sword, more then look, for how it is in your hand, before cutting?

  • Cutting is U're destiny my son...

  • thats Isao Machii's son?

  • Yes.

  • Very nice cutting, and he's only 10 year old !

So syuushinryuu joins the hands ... interesting, i will tak about your ryu to my sensei

Kendomen use to think all time in proper technique, we use to have a closed mind for different techniques, believe we own the 'real and good tecnique', and I think we are wrong about that.

  • Thank you.

  • that`s some serious talent well done!!!

  • Thank you.

  • Spaghetti Carbonara! Manicotti vino bicicleta!

  • ma non ti fai pena? -.-

  • It is true that his grip is not that good, but his hasuji is excellent, mizu gaeshi fantastic, most of older students have problem executing that cut,

and for a kid that old, impressive i say.

  • Thank you for the comment.

How with the sword is different according to the sect.

How with he is the one of the method taught by me.

Wrong in it is a mistake.

Look at an old picture of Japan.

You learn the samurai joins the right hand and the left hand and has the sword.

How with his sword is the traditional one, and not a mistake though said again.

Denying him means my and my method is denied.

  • I am not implying that i know as nearly as you about swordsmanship or iai,nor am i saying that his grip is wrong, what i mean to say is that from my experience you have a better control/balance of the sword when there is some space between your hands that's all.

Other than that i must say that i have never seen someone so young cutting that good, and i meant no disrespect to you or your teaching.

  • I cannot speak English.

It writes with a translation software.

Therefore, what I want to say accurately might not be transmitted.

The misunderstanding apologizes if your feelings were impaired.

  • Hehe, that's alright i'm not that easily offended.

  • His grip is all wrong. There is no space between his hands, which is why he is having trouble controlling the sword on his cuts. He is missing the mark on most of his cuts and he is winding up on the sword as though it's a baseball bat.

10 years old or no, his fundamentals are all wrong. Of course, 10 year old kids usually don't listen to a sodding thing you tell them, so it's lucky that the sword isn't flying out of his hands and injuring someone.

  • This how to have it is a peculiar way to Syuushinryu with the sword.

It opens up the room and ..possession.. that has it is the one by the idea of ,

    sect.

Your comment is piece person's of you one-sided pressing, and no correct one.

  • ownt...

  • Geez ppl, at least clap, give the kid some confidence for cryin out loud.

  • If i said that it was great, I would have lied, because it was fantastic!

  • Thank you.

  • You are a good teacher.

    Excellent demonstration.

I am amazed by student's skill.

  • Thank you.

  • He is quite young, then again, me and him are only 5 years apart.

Even then, he is excellent. I think he needs a shorter blade, though.

But for such a small iaidoka using such a big sword, his Hasuji was pretty good.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Very nice!!!

It's hard to believe he only 10))) wow!

  • Thank you.

  • Very nice! I don't belive that he is only 10. Excellent!

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • HE's better that me! Excellent!

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Very cool video! My son is 1 year and a half and he is already learning the kiai and use of swords. I study Nakamura ryu and Mugai meishiha, whenever my son is at the the dojo he is like our mascot. By the way, I've enjoyed all of your videos to date.
