@ChayZzzOoo It's All Lucky 7's status. When a character has exactly 7777 current health, all their attacks deal exactly 7777 damage. And since Ungarmax attacks, uhh, quite many times, he can deal pretty much damage. Ruby Weapon doesn't really have that much health, either. He just has annoying attacks and counters.

i beat emerald and ruby with no KOTR or 7777. i didnt' even know about 7777 at the time and didnt yet aquire KOTR. it was hell. i know my party was cloud, cid and barret. used a tone of magic+ in cid with quadra magic linked to meteor, did tons of damage. cloud had slash all against emerald to take out the "crystals" and barret used 4x attack. took while but beat em. i remember in the excitement of beating the emerald weapon i smacked my friend on the back so hard it left a handprint

@666GothicLord666 Barret's max HP here is actually 7935. Due to the -2% max HP effect of the Restore materia that is equipped, it becomes 7777. Manipulating the max HP for a character to be at a specific number does take quite a few tries, you are correct there sir.

It's fairly trivial to confirm that subsequent attacks will always deal 7777 damage, and that Ungarmax becomes thus potent enough to dispatch Ruby for good.

I do wish you people would verify these things before posting 'fake'. It makes you look rather silly.

@pooyapz Not if you want record time doing it. If you're just there to beat it it's actually easy. Ruby is just simply using W-Summon Hades + KOR then Mime. Emerald is Multihit Limit Break (Omnislash is the best) or KOR then Mime. Emerald is actually not a big deal if you only use a small amount of Materia per character. Another good thing is have Final Attack + Phoenix combined so your entire party gets revived, then you can also have KOR combined with HP absorb for full heal every time.

@Scorpion19588 Sure you can. All you have to do is pair the blue Counter materia with Mime. Having multiple counter-mime set up allows you to do the limit break more than once in a row. Also the Emerald Weapon one shot kill is possible too, check out my video for an explanation about it.

@toastman444 of course you could do that if you filled his Final Score weapon with all mastered KoTR materia. Since KoTR is mastered at 500k, good luck if you don't have a lot of time. Fighting Lucky Pots only that would take 166.66666 battles. Fighting Materia Balls that would be 111.111111 battles to max one KoTR with Scimitar for Cid or Apoc for Cloud. Achieving this = no life. Either that or you Gameshark it.

@Spuriosity you can easily master a materia using a x3 growth item, and battling with the magic pot, giving elixir to the magic pot = defeating it.. and as i remember, it gives 10,000 materia experience, and with the x3 growth item, 10,000 x 3 = 30,000 materia exp.. you can master a materia with just an hour..

@petixxxx Hmm, I also thought that triple experience meant x3. Maybe the meaning of things have changed. I always thought Magic pots gave 1k AP. This times three would only be 3k. Maybe my version of FF7 is wrong when they say Pots only give 1k. Apparently, the only enemy that is worth more than that is Materia Balls at 1400 AP. Since you never get more than 2 magic pots at a time, wouldn't that be 3k x 2? Only 6k. Your math may be right, but your integers are wrong. MP are 1k AP.

The only bad thing about this strategy is that the other to characters won't get EXP or AP. You could just link Phoenix summon materia and Final Attack materia to beat him also, which will take longer, but everyone gets EXP and AP. I loved to beat Ruby and Emerald with the weapons that had double and triple AP (cloud's Apocalypse weapon) to maximize my AP earnings on the higher level materia

In the desert surrounding the Gold Saucer. But you have to defeat Ultima Weapon first (at Cosmo Canyon). I suggest stealing dazers from cactuars, then using them to freeze Ruby. You should be able to cast KotR twice without any counterattack before they wear off.
