I can remember when i used to remember all my friends' numbers in my head... now they're all in my cell phone... i don't know anyone's number ... and i have fewer friends to remember... my memory isn't going, but it doesn't really get much exercise

The modern cell phone truly is an amazing object. From the mid 80's brick to todays slimline wonder, it's technological evolution in action as we live and breathe.
@bonnie43uk To be honest technology these days just blows me away. When I think how much info we can fit on the tiniest of memory cards compared to the floppy disks of not so long ago it just staggers me.

@RationalFox actually there are some apps I've used that I never thought I would - havent actually used to spirit level yet, lol - well appart from to show other people that I have a spirit level.

You know how I use my smartphone? I read. I simply put my pdf collection on it and get smarter. Because I spend less time reading nonsense on the internet. Or watch videos.
@kalsolarUK The motivator is already there: when 48 h of your last utuubz upload has gone by it'll start give you electric shocks. And the shocks increase in power and frequence as time goes by. How's that for a fucking app? ;)
I got my first wireless keyboard, I absolutely LOVED IT! And then a few days ago I dropped some Dettol as I was cleaning up :( I attempted keyboard surgery to discover that it had eaten through a lot of the contacts :\ So now I'm stuck with 2 broken wired keyboards which I use miserably. I couldn't help but laugh when you talked about how the "smart" phone made you dumber(?) :D
