Honestly, I think this is an amazing thing. DJ's and musicians just need to learn to "play" on it. Give a piano to a two year old and its not gonna sound right, but put the two year old to music lessons and in a couple of years listen to it play again. ReacTable has massive potential! Massive!!

rosstalbot, I was using a cheap digital compact camera - I wouldn't be surprised if it's A Bit Out. Though if I recall correctly,there also was a teeny bit of lag on Reactable's response to the blocks being moved around. Probably a combination of factors.

Everyone finds it really fascinating, but they have to hand it off to a musician who is going to demonstrate how you can make something other than electroacoustic music with it. They need a keyboard that you can attach to it, for programming arpeggios or whatever? and a visual sequencer for percussion. THAT would be awesome.
