Hey there Jim. I have that same power to go box. It has never given me any problems. I'd get one of these DVR units if it also recorded sound with the video.
i've been trying to re-wire my underwater camera, but can't seem to figure out the wiring from the actual camera (lens/board) to the main cable... can't seem to get a picture... please help...
@waynejeffress Just some small fish bluegills, bass, and bullheads. is all I caught on it so far but as far as a video for it I will probably post some this summer. thanks.
Very cool, on the DVr, how do you upload to your computer. Is there a card or usb connection. Also, what format is the videos. I would like to see sample videos sometime.
One last thing, you mentioned making your own underwater camera, that would be a good video to show how to make.
I am not sure what the wiring looks like for that unit but usualy they have a 4 wire cable when you cut them open two are for video and the other two positive and negative power wires you should be able to wire them into this dvr. Hope that helps
I have a aquavu and dvr. I dont want to cut any cables.
I am sure you thought of this, but do they make cables that will fit on both ends? then you can just cut those cables keeping the original intact. this way you dont void warrenty and for the people with aqua vu they can still use it on their unit.
Great idea, nice way to save money. I just bought one of those aqua-vu dvrs, where did you get yours on clearance because if it is still on clearance then I can return mine. Please tell me where you got yours.
that thing is cool so thats a digital DVR and it records to what, a hard drive or a memory card? I could use that to record videos from my PS2 but your unit doesnt have audio, do these things have audio some models b/c if one of these does have audio i could do this hack and plug my PS2 to this thing and record game videos
Yes and I don't know for sure, if you open up the casing there are two solder points that say audio left and right so I am sure you could wire in a line in for it, also it takes SD cards any size I have a one gig in it right now records in asf format but you can convert it with Super.
Cool I have Super its a great program, I have an 8 gig SD card for my digital camera but I have to use my Sansa shaker mp3 player and the USB cord to read the files on it, how much is this DVR unit and where can i buy one? also can I hook my TV up to this and see/hear what im recording, also another use for this is recording stuff off your TV.
Yea you can record anything that has a rca output which is almost any video equipment. they are at Mills Fleet Farm right now for under $100.00 but that is just a sale I think usualy they are $99.99
whoo that is pricy, I got my capture card from a discount store and I use it to record from my game consoles, how is the audio quality of this thing? does it sound good for music b/c my capture card is a cheapo one and the audio settings on it dont work, the sound is tinny and it cant be adjusted.
