  • And this won't work with a D3000, but it will with a D3100 and up(Current Nikon Line) and Some of their older cameras.(Above entry level)

  • just get rid of the music it is distracting

  • This does not illustrate Nikons CLS this is simply using the Nikon onboard flash to fire a slave. The CLS actually communicates information that adjusts camera exposure settings in a unique and INTELLIGENT way. This misses the mark completely and is misleading to people that do not understand how special Nikon's CLS is.

  • thanks for nothing!

  • why is it that video posters feel the need to clutter the information with music all the time? I came looking for information to help me solve my problem. I want to see and hear a human. I have no interest in your music.

  • how to set up that flash with D90 , even though thatz not nikon brand

  • audio/music is unbearable.

  • great vid, i have a d3 and sb-900 and how do i get the camera and slave to commumnicate. it seems weird that my d80 has the commander function but not the d3. where am i going wrong please, or do i need to fork out for a transmitter for my d3.

  • @spen45 custom settings braketing/flash .....

  • thanks

  • CLS only works with SB800's and 600's. Anything else will be triggered from the preflash signaling info sent from the camera.

You need an SB800 master if using a D70 or will not be able to set channel levels.

All remotes must be Nikon SB800 or SB600 in order to get the TTL information telling it what power level to send.

  • That's true, but within the context of my video, the flash fired from the camera is sufficient to fire the external flash and create a dynamic effect.

  • You can also use the SU-800, btw the SB-28DX was the first to pioneer the CLS. I've used the CLS all my life, now I have 2 SB-900s and they are powerful enough to compare to studio strobes.

  • Nice, send me some shots.

  • The nikon versions of the metz 48, 58 also work flawlessly with the CLS.

  • omg i was sooo lost before i saw this video. Thanks, btw was that the Nikon D80?

  • You should of shown the final product
