Not many people know this, but there are two VC-25A jets in the Presidential fleet. There is SAM28000 and SAM29000. "Air Force One" is only a call sign whenever the current President of the United States is aboard any USAF or any civilian aircraft. "Air Force Two" applies for the vice-President. This fleet of aircraft is the safest and most guarded on the ground and in the air with CIA and Secret Service surveillance applying to everyone from the press pool, pilots, and the in-flight cabin crew.

To Pakistan Knight: The President would not use a civilian aircradft, but if he would, the call sign Air Force One would apply, and that is because he is the Commander in Chief. Any sitting President while in office is allowed to use the call sign. But a former and living President who travels aboard any aircraft, either SAM 28000 or SAM 29000, or any commercial aircraft cannot use the call sign. The rules above apply for the Presidential fleet of helicopters and the call sign, Marine One.

Nope. That's not what i read. President always uses airforce planes for transport. Civilian planes are off limits for US president as far as I know & presidential cars are called gorund one while he's using his own limo. even boarding a US C-130 hercules, it becomes Airforce one once he's aboard. this callsign applies to airforce planes only from what i read.

But even so i dont think the airliner changes it's call sign to airforce one. Like Pakistan's president has his own plane called PAK One but when he flies on airliners it goes by the flight number. And also these 747s in the video are part of the airforce. On their wings are USAF registration markings. & USAF simbol along the tail (hard to spot)

It is true. The president would be an idiot for using a civilian craft when he has an even more secure craft than almost any other building or aircraft in the world, but if the president is a passenger, it is automatically Air Force One. It could be any airline, it wouldn't matter, because the plane the active president would be on would have highest priority over anything.
