  • Looks legit.

  • what the...I don't remember the cg being that awful

  • @hogwashsentinel It was, which was surprising to everyone at the time, because the show usually has pretty good CGI (like the plane crash as seen by the Others in A Tale of Two Cities).

  • im still lost..

  • haha imho this is probably one of my top 10 worst lost eps ever. Stranger Land, Kevin Johnson, What Kate Does, Recon, and Namaste are terrible too. even nikki and paulo episode is better lol.

  • lol.

  • So if the money isn't going into the graphics OR the writing (at least the writing of the final season) -- then where the hell is it going?

  • Thumbs up if you came here from TvTropes

  • Dude, no one really believed that effect did they?

  • YAY! Its Red Alert again! (rocks out to Hell's March)

  • This was practice for the 1st year animation students I bet...

  • Puts the "sub" in submarine Sub-sitution

  • With all the money they put into this series, you'd think they could give a little more to their cgi

  • Nice U-Boat.

  • Actually this reminds me of Silent Hunter more than an N64 game. It's smoother than most N64 models.

  • the sub was submerged already

  • Ah, the submarine dive, reminding us all of the graphical prowess of PS1 games. :)

  • HAHAHA

  • Worst animation in all of Lost.

  • Obvious CGI is obvious

  • It took ten Cray computers to make this scene.

  • @Accisma PlayStation1 is more like it.

  • I watched this over and over on my TV recording.

I literally laughed for 5 minutes at how poorly animated that submarine was when I first saw it.

  • The music is a reference to Giacchino's score for Medal of Honor. That's the only relevant part of this scene.

  • @darthmilo77 Haha. And here I was feeling special for making that connection, I love that he made the reference. The last bit of music in tonight's ep where sawyer says "we're gonna take the submarine" had me thinking that I'd heard that before. Sure enough it was the U-Boat song from MOH.

  • I love how you can practically see Lindelhoff and Cuse saying "You should be so bloody impressed by this." Honestly, there's no reason at all for that shot, so it seems like they're actually showing off the crappy effect.

  • Is this from Lost: Via Domus?

  • Haha, nice.

  • WETA EAT YOUR HEART OUT!

  • this is terrible

  • The cgi should be made better for the dvd.

It should've been good the first time, but it's not, so a do-over for the dvd !!!

  • Aww man, that is totally half assed!

  • I was like "wtf, why is it a crappy blender made sub in the nr.1 series ever made" a real anti-climax really

  • this reaaaaally sucks, poor quality

  • Hard lol. Not really.. Just saying.

  • Pause at 0:12. That periscope-thingy at the front of the conning tower looks like an in-game polygon from a 1990's era FPS for crying out loud. Were they drunk when they put this shambles together?

  • Wow, at 0:11 just look at how blury the textures are! Not only that but the submarine is so low-poly that you can even see where the polygons meet on the edges!

  • If they would have cut away around the 8 second mark, it wouldnt have been that bad. Hope its redone for the Bluray/DVD!

  • Wow.

  • that's pretty bad cgi for a pretentious tv show.

  • Wow. I thought people were exaggerating, but it DOES look like 90's video game CGI.

  • This Submarine, like my N64 has an inability to display non-straight lines.

  • Oh dear...

  • AVATAR 2 already ?

  • Worse than Final Fantasy 8 FMVs. Good shit.

  • lol

  • God I fucking loved the N64.

  • I didn't know lost did visual homages to Metal Gear Solid 2.

  • Oh my, that looks like something my GameCube could do.

  • fail cgi

  • wow look at those amazing playstation graphics lol

  • I know the other submarine was called the Galaga, but that's just ridiculous!

  • this is fucking hilarious

reminds me of the the jaws 3 ending when the shar blows up

    LMAO

love lost tho, dont get me wrong.

  • you're right

  • Rendered on an abacus. A broken abacus.

  • The strange thing is that it didn't look half as bad in The Incident.

  • This shot is etched into my memory. It totally shattered my immersion in the episode.

  • me too. it took me so hard out of the episode for that moment a bit after. it was easy to forget and 'submerge' myself back into the episode, but they really should redo that scene for the dvds.

  • this is like atari graphics :D

  • They should not have bothered with this shot, while I can see why they did it, it's fairly obvious they didn't have a big visual effects budget.

  • i rememeber seeing this and laughing so hard!

    THATS TERRIBLE GRAPHICS!

  • gracias por la mejor escena de todo LOST, con gráficos del metal gear 3
