  • My horse got chased by a moose before.. It was huge.

  • Do be sure you know what you are shooting at. Men walking upright, have been mistaken for bears walking on all four in central NL.

  • @egrandy only by his wife! be warned!! : )

  • B'ys we gotta get up on da trail and kill something, my trigger finger is going nutz.

  • Awsome....haven't heard that in awhile!

  • how does a hunter determine teh quality of the emat when hunting? Age? Gender? What are the criteria?

  • A major determinent of the quality of meat, is how long an the moose is run before it is killed. If you make it run for fifteen minutes then shoot it, expect the meat to be tough. The very best meat, calf or adult moose, is one that drops as soon as it is shot.

  • Those two moose introduced to Howley in 1904 did no survive, or s they say. Later there were two bulls and two cows dropped off in Gander Bay and they then took off from there.

  • That will be a surprise for the folks in Howley!!!!

  • I'm not 100% sure, but I've read it a few times while doing research for papers during college. I'm still trying to find out the truth of it.

  • If a moose is large, it is considered an adult and the older it is, the more tough will be the meat to eat. Generarlly, a smaller or younger animal provides a more tender steak. I am sure there are more factors than that, but I am not a moose hunter so I can say say no more.

  • GOT TO GET ME MOOSE BOY

  • lmao there was only 4

  • there were 6 moose, 4 in howly and 2 in gander bay

  • MMM...

  • nothin better than moose meat!, gotta love Buddy, listen to the duck hunting song too!

  • I do my hunting with a camera and I buy my meat at the supermarket. The a.b.c. of hunting I can do without, thank you anyway!

  • egrandy,,,don't blame the Indians for your failure and frustration. If you want to hunt a moose leave your couch, look beyond suburbia and go to the woods where you can learn the a,b,c of hunting.

  • In Ontario the Indians killed all the moose. The Newfoundlanders killed the Indians. The moose are killing Newfies on the highways! Not meaning to be mean by this story, but it is all true! History don't lie!

  • don,t blame the indians for what the black bears have done in the past 5 to 6 years

  • IT was NOT the NEWFIS it was the british

  • no moose here in ontario,,,indians shoot them all

  • most be no natives there killing them all,,,lucky

  • hahaha :]

i need to show all my friends this video on moose appriciation day :]

  • to inform you there were 6 moose released in 1907 2 in gander bay and 4 around howley

  • Holy shit at 2:45

  • Yah thats a scene that repeats itself to often in the summer in Newfie...they say that a moose can destroy a 18 wheeeler! Really dangerous animals.

  • not a dangerous animal. Not there fault we put a highway through there home

  • thchero...actualy we put their home on the highway lol...moose are an introduced species

  • Lol yah i know its not thier fault, its just that i think NFLD could somehow control the population better or install fences :S, I was almost killed b4 i was born in a moose related accident.

  • They have tried by clearing forest away from the roads on both sides but I don't know how effctive that will be.

  • lol u were almost killed before u were born ??

  • Mooses dont have a home, they are animals.

  • very good harmony in the song...good stuff

  • yes sir i tell you it is

  • Haha 8 moose per square kilometre around gros morne park and lots of other areas vs 1.4 humans per square kilometre on the island!!!

  • Geez, we Newfies are outnumbered. I hope they don't decide to take over the place.

  • yes i know man

  • Love that song

  • hey at 43 seconds thats goobies gas station

  • 4 sure. I have been there a hundred times. You can see a similar big moose guy at the Irvine Big Stop in Deer Lake.

  • these moose came from the miramichi an area called Bartibog. a man named John Connel used to have them tethered like horses he caught them in april and shipped them to newfoundland.

  • got ta get me moose by

  • Many thanks for that bit of information. I have often wondered what part of the NB our moose ancestors roamed. I have been in that area, and I can say, very similar to Newfoundland which is why the moose like it, I guess. Thanks again.

  • I am already craving the fall 2008 moose hunt back home :)

    Nice video
