It's a combination of the option to synchronize the volume of the instruments to the singers voice, fatigue, less auto tune (yes kids all bands and singers use autotune to stabilize there voices) and the need to both preform/go crazy on stage. Some singers have no problem with a live performance, others struggle more. Doesn't make them bad singers...
