  • that recovery was so badass!

  • so which one on those trumpets marched dci?

  • Drumline always has the sickest beats!! Drumline is the shit!!!!

  • So stick dropping seems to have happened before for the current precautionary measure to be in place.

  • loud as always...that is one of the many things I don't miss.

  • the marine kicks ass

  • how come the quads player gets no love???

  • These guys are great ... but honestly, love my own USMC drumline back in Quanitico in the early 80's -- their routine involved even playing on each other's drums and talk about tight!

  • 2:56 that was impressive O.O

  • whats the song theyre playing at the beginning called?

  • @Jazzmetalrocknroll

Georgia On My Mind. Classic Ray Charles.

  • dayum! so classy!

  • more cowbell

  • 1:46

  • @evilmaddox. It was the world trade center in Portland, OR. Look it up.

  • one question how is this at the world trade...... remember 9/11???????? and also the world trade center is in New York............ just sayin

  • @EVILMADEX ........ your an idiot

  • LOL at the guy at 2:55 who dropped his drumstick and pulled out another one XD

  • what piece was this

  • Th is absolutely top-notch!

  • OORAH MARINES!

  • i love that song

  • 2:57 epic.:DDD

  • and that ladies and gentlemen is why percussionists always carry at least 1 extra stick

  • I remember long, long ago being teased for being in the "marching band" (tenor sax). I'm a retired 30 year Navy Aviation vet now with the utmost respect for my fellow Marines. I wish all my school mates could see this. Call one of these guys a NERD if you dare.

    was a nice recovery though

  • 2:56-3:00 pro recovery right there XD

  • @Dreadlord1423 That was sleek. I didn't even notice it until I saw you pointed it out.

  • At the beginning the middle snare was FEELING IT!

  • @EddieTattoProduction Happens. Gotta love it!

Sincerely, a flute player turned to bass drum for marching band. ^_^

  • BECAUSE HE FAILS AT 2:55 tryna be cool.but its all good amazing preformance overall <3

  • @1letterman your not funny

  • @1letterman i bet your that secretly gay guy who goes around the office telling the shittiest jokes while trying to make fun of them you end up looking like a complete FUCKING DUMB ASS!!!

  • I think the recovery from the dropped stick was more impressive that what the move was supposed to me. Just my opinion.

    I FUCKING LOVE DRUMLINE.

    Sincerely, a piccolo player.

  • @MadelynDune it is good to here that from a piccolo player. as a percussionist, we sometimes feel under appreciated.

  • @MommyMacyx4 Especially when the drum instructor confesses the band director only pays him to "babysit" the drumline 0-x

  • @MadelynDune ifkr? im a trumpet player, and ive been screwing around on a drum pad all afternoon...

  • @MadelynDune he did grab another one hella smooth

  • @MadelynDune I caught that to, but he recovered quickly. I'm with you, I LOVE DRUMLINES.

  • as much as i loved the marines.. i wish the drumline had technique-_- lol bring on the thumbsdon. but kinda true.

  • Portland Oregon at the World Trade Center? I thought that was in NY.... I'm confused.

  • @XCRunner8819 the world trade center doesnt existed anymore?

  • @XCRunner8819 there are several world trade centers, like there is one in Dallas Texas

  • @Maniken260 and your problem is what exactly?

  • That trumpet solo is dry...where's Martin when you need him?

  • Way to go, men of the US Marine Corps!...and SEMPER FI !

  • Loved the drumline solo it was pretty sweet, it was clean as titties in the snare line!

  • Super Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing:)

  • the snare player in the middle is like... "dumbass..."

  • semper fi

  • I love the Marines, and I love their drum line.... hoooorah!!!!!

  • @stacylperry save the H for the army, man

  • @elconijo sorry... got a bit excited, please forgive.

  • @stacylperry no worries. semper fi.

  • Amazing.

  • you could tell the middle snare was feelin it at the beginning, even though the left failed miserably on the stick spin, he laughed it off, and recovered, good job guys

    - 14 year old to be snare professional ;)

  • @scott28g FYI, they had just gotten back from Iraq when they did this concert. So I guess you're mistaken.

    "jealous"

    "deprived"

    "separated"

I can tell you were a grunt. The band doesn't have ASVAB waivers.

  • @raimichick HEY, I WAS A GRUNT MY FORST 4 YEARS....lol. My GT is 132....

  • 2:57 great recovery

  • @9Skateboard7 so clean like he meant to do it =P

  • Comment removed

  • gosh. That is the most beautiful thing iv ever heard from a band.

  • @Maniken360...Uhhh you make no sense dude. I'm just busting the dudes balls a little bit. I played the trumpet for 7 yrs. Then I joined the Marines, but I went in the Infantry and did what Marines are supposed to do...deploy and fuck up the bad guys. So jelous of what? Jelous of that these guys were never deprives of sleep, chow, or seperated from their families for long periods of times perhaps...nah, glad I was a grunt. I aint jelous of shit.

  • @TheDragonmaster18

i know they get promoted fast in the band...i am in the Marine Corps after all! O and another thing....we're MARINES not cadets. Thank you.

  • these guys are amazing. and im glad that they're using the old school traditional grip instead of the grip dci uses

  • That Cpl on snare keeps bobbin his head. I wonder if he marched Crossmen.

  • Sexy.

  • srgt Garcia ;))

  • what if the 8th and I had spare rifles in their pockets?

  • @scott28g YOU would still be jealous. Dip dip.

  • Lets hear it for our boys.

  • Got Georgia on my Mind?...Is that the song?

  • good god center snare hasnt even been in the Marine Corps for 4 years and is already a Sgt!!! Man i need to the lat move to the band!

  • @redtib2003 he's already a sgt because he is in band. the people in the marine corps band get promoted faster than regular cadets. the better you get at whatever instrument you play they higher rank you become

  • 2:57, sweet move

    :-]

  • I can swear this was supposed to be a concert band? Who uses marching percussion for a concert band setup?? They weren't even good..

  • Thats almost the line up of my school but any I want to do that when I graduate

  • Hm... I'm not really a particular fan of the marine bands, more of drum corps. Pulling the drumline forward was a nice feature, but after their little drum feature its not the best thing to have them continue to stand in front of the band.

  • @BenDippold Go directly to hell.

  • @Maniken360 so uncalled for lol

  • 1:30 for drum line

  • best marching band uniform

  • Corporals, Sergeants, and Staff Sergeants...they should be in Afghanistan somewhere, not playing there little drums

  • @JordanJuno916 you just made yourself look stupid as hell they have Marines over there right now doing security......figure out what your talking about before you talk shit.

  • @soundwavefreak6659 dude, it was a joke....dont get all but hurt>>>little pussy

  • @JordanJuno916 easy to be tough online huh?.....its ok little guy im not mad

  • @soundwavefreak6659 im not gonna lie, u could probably kick my ass....but at the end of the day u probably live across the country in sum redneck southern state so....peace beyotch

  • thats the whole marine battery? half the size of my schools?

  • I think the Marines need a legitimate drumline, 4-9 snares, 5 basses, 4-6 tenors and crap load of cymbal players

  • m8 this is the banging`est drummming ive seen DUDE you are wicked *RESPECT*

  • I know it's just a concert band, but they're still using moving around way too much. Also it was kind of bad looking they didn't walk to the front in step it looked sloppy.

  • snare on the far right during the drum solo looks VERY mean

  • @KANONSIONNI He did fine without one

  • Ooorah! fckn outstanding.

  • You're wrong "disbejorden" they've fought in iraq and afghanistan. Music is their secondary duty.

  • snare at :28

    Doing it right

    lead at :35

    your doing it wrong.

  • the stick flip at 2:56 was so basic . how do u drop the stick

  • hey are you perfect?FUCK YOU

  • Comment removed

  • Dirty, dirty, dirty.

  • dude you probly are worse they have to serve and play in a band so they probly dont get to practice as much as they need because of there duties

  • This IS their assignment -- this is all they do, other than eat, sleep and PT. As for my skill, feel free to click on my name and check out some of my videos... I'm no Scott Johnson, but I've marched 4 years of DCI and played snare year in an undefeated DCA drumline.

  • sorry about that i thought you were a young know it all but your good and i like the vids

  • lols thats all they do...is play they dont serve time in iraq lols marine band all you do is eat sleep play instruments lols they still do bootcamp and shit its just theyre not combat related at all haha

  • @disbejorden you have no idea what your talking about.....there are Marines from the Marine Bands constantly in Iraq or Afghanistan.

  • @soundwavefreak6659 i have an idea of what i'm takling about haha cause i tried out for it.. lols theyr'e not in afghanistan...or iraq. wtf is the band gonna do there...

  • @soundwavefreak6659 of course if i tried out it means something.. i was obviously informed of a lotta shit before trying out.. besides i wasn't talking shit.. i was told they're not combat related after recruit training and of course former bandsman can re-enlist to some other MOS and be awarded NAVY Cross or whatever... are u seriously in this band?

  • @soundwavefreak6659 isn't the marine band only assigned to the band unit. where they just literally play and practice all the time.. dude ur full of sh!t i've done so much research and whatnot to be in this band. and ur giving me this bull and confusing me i bet ur not even a marine!

  • @disbejorden bands deploy. bottomline

  • good... now I wan't to see some Ditty

  • the seargent and cpl are motivated the most

  • Nice recovery on the dropped stick,as tacetfiat said, they may be Marines, but, they are human, overall great performance.

  • Your rite, shit happens. Excellent job though. But for how much they practice, that shouldnt really happen. Im thirteen, and can play most of that, but i practice waayyyy to much.

  • @topper2142

    Great reflex!

  • that was good

  • Still pretty good. not saying theyre bad. my respect to the services but its not as amazing as i thought it would be. the winds have to be able to play all scales and crazy notes. come on some highschools could take out that drumline. just a little disapointed

  • lol the snare on the left sucks...breaking all the time

  • it was good but for 1st division.. come on.. and i think the best drummers should not be able to drop their sticks.. i mean both of your sticks...

    but it was good.

  • Hey, when you play drums it happens. Especially when you're just playing the snare drum!

Just because they're Marines doesn't mean they're not human.

  • @TacetFiat i play the snare it hapens all the time

  • i would have expect more from the marines but...you know

  • Cool.

  • Yea, that wasn't in the ink...plus, a lot of dirt

  • Yea scott....2.7! lol j/k Not bad for the awkward location we were in...not even an audience.

  • tasty minus the stick drop :)
