Radioactive fallout doesnt spread out with the shockwave so much, it gets carried around in the air so depending on wind speed and directions after the blast. some areas can be... wouldnt say uneffected but able to sustain life.

After a certain while the air wont contain nuclear material but soil and vegitation and what not stay effected for a long time.

however they could fire many many nukes and it wouldnt matter and yes everyone would die lol

@pikachu616 In Jericho, the nukes were several low-yield weapons which were detonated at ground level within major cities. A very different scenario than all-out nuclear war.
