fantastic. reminds me of maurice sendak's version of the arabian dance where the dancer (a peacock) is carried out in a cage, let out to dance, returned to the cage and taken away. How Balanchine's borefest has passed as "great ballet" all these years is beyond me. I love this!

I saw the whole ballet on Ovation during xmas. It's bizarre. But this is one of the most beautiful movements of the whole ballet. Thanks for posting.
