Yeah, the first time I saw I am Legend I was like wholly shamoly this is a take off on Omega Man! Omega Man was extremely chilling. A movie ahead of it's time like the starring actor Charlton Heston man. This guy was a visionary. Chose roles that play a huge part in the shaping of humankind. Seriously!!! Wish he were here today.

Im sorry but The Omega Man is hundred times better than I Am Legend. It was nothing to do with CGI but we all CGI ruins everything in films. I Am Legend was boring, slow and lacked the plot. I don't have anything against Will Smith but I find some of this films poor. Charlton Heston is much better. Long live the old actors and classic films!

The soundtrack of this film was awful. Feel good music for a dramatic film. Just awful. If it would have a better score, Omega Man would be a classic. I am Legend was a better film. Great remake.

I was SOOOO dissapointed in the remake. It wasn't a good remake of 'The Omega Man' and didn't stick close enough to the book to be it's own movie. In the book Neville is the Angel of Death for the mutants. He hunts and kills THEM during the day and they grow to fear and hate him. The term 'I Am Legend' doesn;t come from him finding a cure, it comes from him being the Boogeyman for the new breed of survivors. I like Will Smith, but the remake sucked.

I am legend would have been awesome if they had a great actor like Charlton Heston, and sinister villains and not CGI plastic looking monsters with dislocated jaws like something out of "the Mummy franchise"...too bad they never made a film like that...oh wait, they did. It's called The Omega Man and its fantastic.

I still like Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price the best and the word "vampire" comes to mind quicker in that than this for me, but yeah it's a good movie. As Heston says in it "They don't make em like that anymore...".

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as THE OMEGA MAN.

Not just because of the value of the film, but because of the difficult times of 1971 with the Cold War and racial strife and Vietnam and all. The movie could not be politically correct given those times, it had raw dramatic EDGE.

It is possible that George Clooney could fill the role of a modern day remake of the "Omega Man" movie.

Personally, I think the "Omega Man" movie would best be remade by an indie production...the less special effects, the better.

And yes, I've seen just about every armagedon movie out there, plus I saw "Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price and I read the book, "I Am Legend". Plus, I've actually stepped foot in an A-Bomb crater, so I think my humble opinion counts for something.

I like The Omega Man more than I am Legend also. The Omega Man was entertaining; but also made a statement about the Cold War chemical warfare, and technology that made you think. I think I am Legend was only entertainment and didnt make any big statements. That is disapointing because they could have talked more about politics, militirism, marshal law, man made virus's or even religion. It just shows you that Hollywood today has no balls compared to Hollywood of the 1970's.

You're right. It's an adaptation of Richard Matheson's book of the same title. It's actually the third adaptation starting with "The Last Man on Earth" (1964) starring Vincent Price. Do you write scripts by any chance?

"I AM Legend" should be retitled "I AM Boring" Will Smuck was out acted by his dog, no, not Jada, the German one. It was politically correct movie making at its most corrupt level. Smith hunted deer and cures for misunderstood monsters. Whereas, "Omega Man" hunted the fiends and killed em. For action, suspense, plot and a in-depth character, go with "omega Man." For wish-washy, boring, melodramatic soap opera style thespianship, that reflects an attempt at global appeal-go with " I am...."

I loved the Omega man and I liked I am legend . I was hoping that I am legend would be more entertaining (since more special effects are available today).I found there was a lot of dead air moments , no music to convey emotions , not enough action...

That said , it was OK , but less believable .

How could any one survive alone for many years when outnumbered with vampires/Zombies that move like that and are superstrong ...
