@crytebow Yes sir (North Florida), but I do have 2 DCI World Championship rings... Its hard to listen to trombones on the marching field when I marched DCI for so many years. I am a jazz trombone player and love the instrument more than most people. I just really prefer the sound of a solid DCI euph line.
@MrEuphonium1978 Well at SEC football games it's all about raw edge. Heck ya can't even put DCI in the same category as college marching band. We have a few DCI kids in the band who don't get that, and they're absolute tools.
I like to think of myself as a brass player first and a euphonium player second. I love euphonium but it's impossible to hate the raw power a trombone section can put out. You guys are beasts.
@euphonium929 It's that edge, man! We only had about 3-4 players in the section that were exceptionally great trombonists. The rest of the section is mediocre at best, but can blend very well. The section was TERRIBLE 3 years ago, and the 15 years leading up to then! We've turned it around these last few years though. It's also been at it's largest in history. I just graduated with 13 other seniors this past year, but I heard they'll have 52 again this fall.
