  • this is not vera lol vera is a dancer haha and this is def. clooney in the picture. have you even seen the movie? haha

  • this is Vera Ellen, at least the picture is.

  • Rosemary was a blessing like no other. No frills.

    No gimmicks.Just real.

  • What a lovely rendition of this song ! I have another one, also by Rosemary Clooney but a bit older, it seems.

  • amishparadise428 - Thank you so much for posting this fine recording. Do you know when it was recorded? I am guessing some time in the 1970s.

  • @Rossbach2 This was recorded in 1954!

  • this makes me cry ~

  • Wonderful old Irving Berlin song....

  • She phrased so beautifully.

    Miss her.

  • @1mommas Rosemary was the female Sinatra--her phrasing was impeccable.

  • I think Rosemary is the best female singer of the 20th century--such warmth to her voice, the phrasing--she's got it all. My partner adores her.

  • @windstorm1000 - Agreed. Rosemary Clooney was probably the most underrated female vocalist of her generation. What have we today that could compare with such a fine vocal stylist as she?

  • beautiful song, moves me to tears ,what a beautiful songstress she was.thank you

  • This lady had such class. I could listen to her endlessly.

  • Timeless

  • every time I hear this song, I remember Christmases from my childhood. My parents both loved the movie, and my mother would sing this song to us as a lullaby. I still remember it like yesterday, tho she's been gone 4 years ago this month. Some things last last forever

  • That was beautiful man....

  • Thanks. there's more to the story - Sometimes whle rocking the baby to sleep, my brother & sister would sneak into the kitchen to raid the fridge. Without missing a beat, Mom would substitute the words "when you're worried & you can't sleep..." with "Paul & Shirley, time for bed. Get out the kitchen & turn off the light"

    *sigh*

  • Aah, nostalgia. :)

  • i still listen to this when I have trouble getting to sleep, like tonight. Some things never change

  • @htarceno ~ Sweet.

  • Mee too. What a sweet and smoothe voice that I find very calming.I love all her songs and this one really is heart warming.

  • Rosie at her very best... RIP Sweet One!!!

  • I love this song~! :D

  • I don't care how 'out-of-season' it is. It's never a bad time for Rosemary Clooney.

  • I agree. ☺
