Who are the 10 wankers that didn't like this song??? Robert is the total package !
You can be my tall cool one anytime. I love how he incororporated some Zep into this song. I was front row right in front! Made me horney as hell!! love you Robert! you other idotcs can watchh Justin Beeeber or some other crap.!
@vinnypimentel if you say so! I have an idea, go watch your super death metal vids where they scream so much no word is understandable and they mistake speed for musicality!
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing HIM at Mcnichols arena in Denver in the 80s. BUT PHIL f-ing Collins was the surprise drummer! Ill NEVER forget it as long as I live!
Arrggghhhh! You cut it off just before the band cut into the "Custard Pie" section. When I watched this live, I hit the ceiling when I heard the Zeppelin reference. Very cool moment.
Ozzy was ok, but he did to many drugs and his voice didn't have the commanding power that dio's had, oh and BTW plant and dio were equal, axel rose is a psychopath
I remember watching and taping this live. Plant's band blew down doors, while the Zeppelin reunion tanked. Two observations: (1) Plant looked like he was enjoying himself much much more with his solo band than he did with his old bandmates (2) I never thought I'd see the day where Plant would be using backing tapes. lol
@jpjonesy To even compare this to Zep is an absolute travesty to true Zeppelin fans. Plant is great but unfortunately he thinks we was Zeppelin. Without Zep he'd be squat. Funny how he disses the Zep reunion stuff and even in this crappy vid he's "hey hey momma"ing all over the place. Hate to say it but from Jimmy and JPJ's perspective he must be considered a friggin diva tool.
I truly believe that Robert Plant is the best singer/performer in the Rock scene. The only one who can beat him is Freddy Mercury. Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison, Bono and Ronnie James Dio are (or were) excellent but no as talented as those two.
I hope this comment doesn't start a flame war where typical ignorants will dare to mention Axl Rose (Guns n' Roses), Vince Neil (Motley Crue) and Ozzy Osbourne as the "best".
Since the begining of rock and roll we all know that R P is the man, but who are the two AXE-MAN on his side here they are simply great hold there own with anybody.
I love Robert Plant, I really do, but anyone could see the damage after his accident circa '76? In his prime, '68-'75, he claimed the "best male voice in the history of rock and roll," leaving him to compete with only Janis. Even today, though, his voice still blows nearly everyone else out of the water.
I saw him in 1990 with a friend of mine from school. The Black Crowes were the opening band. It was at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. Not too many good concerts at the Coliseum anymore.
even though he was still an amazing musician in the 80s, he was always truly inspired with jimmys and johns riffs and i think (notice how i said "I") that nothing could beat how he made music with the zepps
just think, if bonham didnt die, where would Led have gone?? cause man, that last album of theirs was freakin awesome and so damn inventive, they might have just been translated and dissapered from existance because they were reaching extreme hights with their musical creativeness and talent. I just wish that I could have known what it would be like for Led to have kept makin music.
@ St33zusMCn00b: Have you heard Mighty Rearranger? I think that's a pretty good indication of what Led Zeppelin would have sounded like in the 21st century. It's a brilliant rock album.
Plant's voice stayed pretty good even after the decline, if you were to listen to this without prior knowledge to his other stuff, you'd think he was at his prime or something :]
Can someone tell me this: If they had his audio setup perfectly here, and he performed with Led Zeppelin and the sound was completely out, what the bloody hell happened? I guarantee that audio tech or all of them, were fired in one night. They made history: they ruined a possible Led Zeppelin come back.
Damn, why is it cutoff at the end?? They go into "Custard Pie" for a verse at the end....I was at this show at MSG....the reunion was the most amazing thing I've ever seen/heard.
"im goin down, im going now" thats from the end of when the levee breaks, and "hey hey mama......hey hey mama" im guessing is from black country woman. i just thought id share that with everyone
Hear Ya!! I saw him in Jacksonville -- definitely one of the top 5 concerts Ive ever seen -& Ive seen many. The guiatrist,Doug Boyle is /was freakin AWESOME!!
As soon as they played that riff from "the ocean" they should have just kept going. lol
Plant's solo stuff is ok. But Zeppelin is just amazing. And I read an interview where Robert Plant said he purposely changed styles that way no one would think he was riding Zep's coattails. But damn, I wish he would have. It would have been sort of an extension of the great Led Zeppelin.
Gotta respect the guy for trying something completely different.
I was at this show (mullet and all!) and I do remember that his solo performance was so much better than Zeppelin's. I also remember the Bee Gees being very good.
I was at this show. His solo set was actually very good (from I remember). Zeppelin however....they should have stayed home for that one. That was painful. Not even a good buzz could make them sound good that night.

Cool. I wonder what an 80's Zep would have been like? Instead of all the hair bands ripping off the lighter side of Zep we would have had Zep brooding with maturity and therefore no White Lion or Bulletboys, bands that define most of 80's rock(exceptions like U2, etc.) Funny how one event can change everything. RIP Bonzo
I'm a radio dj jackass, I don't have to do my homework. Plant wouldn't have needed to get away from Zep if Bonzo didn't die. I was speculating on a Zep sound in the 80's. The opening riff is taken from The Yardbirds' Train Kept-a-Rolling, the very first song played by Jimmy, Robert, Jonesy and Bonzo when they got together in 1968. It was also the opening song for Zeppelin's last tour ever in 1980.
