Jane is not a true knight. Because true knights are ready for humiliation, embaressmant, so on and so forth and knight are supposed to be self respecting and not care about what other ppl think.

In the last episode Gunther saves Jane from falling off a cliff and gets embarrassed when she asks why he did it, among other hints. In this episode he constantly picks on her. @5:37 he notices the rose in her hand and makes a remark, only to steal a bunch of them claiming theyre for his "lady friend." He never heard the convo between jane and her mom that jane wouldnt be attending the ball. Study his expressions from 20:54 to 20:71 ..his face gets awkward when hes lying plus he compliments jane
I like this show, but this episode is one of the worst. It gives the impression that femininity is a bad thing and plays the trope "real women never wear dresses."

I don't think the episode shows that girls shouldn't be feminin. I think it's trying to say that you should be able to choose that yourself. Jane's mother tried to force Jane to wear a gown. She didn't respect Jane's decision to be dressed as a knight, even though Jane really wanted to because it's her first ball as a knight.
Femininity is not bad. Forcing it on someone is.
Anyhow, I really liked the music in this episode! =D
