  • Technology brought us SKYRIM, so being it's slave was totally worth it.

  • the way he talk makes me sick

  • @bidarsho1972

what's wrong with the way he talks?

  • I found a picture of Lord Gorell at a Royal Aero Club Reception in a book: "My Life"

Author: Jean Batten published 1938 in New Zealand. It's Him. I was wrong. Mea Culpa.

  • And how the world has changed for us in the present in just the last 10 and 20 years!

  • Man , that demagogic criature ! Soon our lifespan should achieve 120 years long, with plenty body health and total moral failure.

  • This is just so true. Next thing you know, Ladies will start wearing Pants. LOL!

  • this wasn't made in 1930 and it isn't very interesting either.

  • What makes you think it wasn't made in 1930? It sure looks like 1930 to me. And he mentioned "the talkies" of the "last few years" -- talkies came in around 1926-27

  • Well the cutting between two cameras is a clue, also the wear and tear on the film (film?) is a little too much and then there's the underlying quality of the image which doesn't look right to me. Having said all that it's just an informed hunch. Why anybody would bother making this now is beyond me...

  • It was filmed in September 1930. I would suggest you watch several films from 1899 to 1930 and then you will realize how dumb your comment was.

  • @Aaron1912 Hehehehe well said Aaron1912

  • It's because it wasn't made now, it was made 80 years ago. "the wear and tear on the film is a little too much", you say?

How do you expect an 80-year-old film-reel to look like?

  • Obviously you are ignorant about film in 1930. The cutting between two cameras is a clue? Do you think they only ever used one camera in 1930? As an expert on early cinema, I am 99% certain this looks, sounds and IS a 1930 film. Might I respectfully suggest that yours is an UNINFORMED hunch.

  • Good.

  • the guy in the film talking died in 1963 aged 77 if this is 1930 he would be around 53-4 looking at him he looks younger so if the video was done later then it must be a ghost :P

  • One my now learn to prioritze for life is still short for most of us.

  • We no longer question where we will be in the future. Technology is advancing at such a rate that we question how long we shall be where we at present.

So many things become obsolete soon after they are marketed. I must say, I am all for it.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • The question remaines, is knowledge really "power"........I is awesome just what has been done with electronics in the last 30 yerars. More than man could ever have dreamed of.

  • It isn't that technology needs to be curbed, but redirected into things that would positively benefit the world as a whole, not just provide mindless entertainment.

  • It needs to slow down. So much pointless garbage now.

  • I've been saying that for years.

  • @toughcrowd94 NOBODY STOPS THE TRAIN OF PROGRESS, BABY!

  • Progress ,Spitfirebird, is a son of necessity . Nothing more. Nothing natural. In most times, a dictatorial claim from the oligarchics.

    Dont be a puppet.

  • Bollocks, progress is fun for the whole family. Without progress we have stagnation, and stagnation breeds stupidity.

  • Indeed, Spitfirebird. I agree with you. Shakespeare and Cervantes were very stupid because didnt play pakman.

  • Are you stupid or something?

  • Progress is the formation of new ideas and technologies. Progress is not the condemnation of older works.

I'm not saying that Shakespeare is bad, I'm saying new things are good.

  • Indeed. Good for expanding repetitive markets in a estereotyped , overcrowded planet . Most of times for war industry markets.

  • Damn straight, the fucking American Dream, man.

  • Progress would be better ,if not for few ones only, as it usually happens. (Trotsky said that ,at the time of telephone invention). It is very confortable and helpful, but also kill us from pollution or sedentary life. Sure that this reflection is one reason why Aaron send those nice movies.

  • Progress is not pollution, progress is the only way to fix pollution. If we don't develope new technologies we'll never stop global warming.

    Progress is salvation.

  • Salvation of progress itself... it appears more an usustainable paradox...

  • I totally agree with you. With all the technology we use, we continue to grow less content, less civil with one another, and our children grow up twice as fast......it's time for a lifestyle change.

  • Well said, Portis. I agree with you.

  • looks like nicholas lindhurst...

  • How did you get all this cool footage?

  • poignant

  • Very interesting. Thank you for sharing. The 20th. century did see some amazing discoveries, and I enjoyed his little bit of philosophy at the end:)

  • Amazing Aaron! - I wonder what wonders are ahead of us in this century. I've put this video on The Cotton Club. Best Wishes - Roxy.

  • Very interesting. It just shows you the world is always changing.
