Indie games are becoming huge lately partly in thanks to both Steam and XBLA - in short, it is much cheaper for developers to get their product to the consumer, so the market is much more viable, and small companies thrive. On top of that, the consumer has more access to amazing indy games, and more people begin to appreciate what the market has to offer.

Oh look another indie puzzle platformer with an artsy graphic style. Maybe with more destroying stuff than usual. There have been so many lately that I just don't get why people are so excited about every single one. Games like this once seemed rare and original but now I feel everybody is just copying each other to get as much money out this genre as possible. Am I really the only one who is not that impressed?

@atsmati123 No, I really feel the same as you. "Affect the world"? I'm pretty sure that's been done. Platformer nostalgia? That's a beaten path. It does have a very interesting aesthetic and it sure looks like a solid platformer, but as for being something new? It's not.

@SwordfighterRed & @atsmati123 Psch, there's been a upsurge in indie platformers recently because they're damn good fun. And this seems pretty unique to me, very nice aesthetic and entertaining looking gameplay. Plus you've completely skipped over the coop, which looks a lot more interesting than the usual 'twice as many guns'. Should be pretty awesome :) and epic soundtrack. Also, 'get as much money out this genre as possible' is just plain cynical.

PROTIP: You can reduce the system requirements of your game if you get rid of the shaders responsible for those washed out/blurry graphics and instead ship the game with a jar of vaseline for the user to smear on their screen. Same effect.
