@marcusmurray2@marcusmurray2 I entered my usual frequencies by hand. Others bought the programming cable and downloaded software from the KG-UV Commander software, which I think is Windows-only. Google KG-UV commander for the link.
I understand from reviews on eHam.net that the programming cable must be seated firmly for a good connection.
@wubrgamer Louise and I have been going for 16 years, and we've been spectators. :-> We've volunteered the last few years so that we can work Exodus. It's a sucky time, and we want to help make it go better.
I own the Baofeng UV-3R Mark II. For it's price it's an amazing little radio and I can't say the "fail when you need it most" sounds fair or unbiased. Some of the "hidden" features are fun. I was able to get the NOAA 19 by changing one little .ini file.
@EvilPacketMonkey The Baofeng is the radio I predict will fail in use. The belt clip on one of mine has already come unglued, and I've had it maybe three months with light use. At $45, the Baofeng is a cheap radio. And it will fail when you need it. Murphy's law.
I appreciate your posting a different opinion -- people who are looking for a radio to buy should have a wide variety of information. If you look at the video v=AxLox-2Pku8 you'll find my review of the Baofeng on YouTube.
I,m A new ham here. Bought this radio a while back . Was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to program this?

What do you do at Burning Man? Just attend or do you work it?
