My mother came back to the house of the Lord. I would have liked that somebody had sung this song in their funeral. I looked after her with great affection until the last day. Though there are horrible things happening to us right now and to others, God is with us all, hold on and believe you will be saved, that there is a place for all who believe, their home with God, where they can not be hurt, where pain can not harm you.

To this day, I worry for the safety/life of a young girl I saw on a live news-feed during Katrina. She was barely passed toddler-stage ~ maybe 4 or 5 yrs old? ~ stranded with a car and an old man (who looked like he may have been dead or close to it) on some floating (or marooned) platform.

If you let your children watch TV don't get mad when they're sexually inquisitive or violent early in life.
DHIII, but the Bible says that we are shapen in iniquity (Psalms 51 5) and Romans Ch 3 is quite unequivocal in stating that we do have an evil nature. We humans are responsible for the culture/society and for what shows up on t.v. It's extremely important that we give due regard to the fact that we are naturally evil (Eph 2 3). For hence, we see our need for the singularly righteous Savior.

@sojournerchristian Exactly, I lost "faith" in Christianity long ago as a child when i discovered Science, which only strengthened my belief in God but hindered my ability to describe or explain GOD through Christianity. People interpret the same book drastically different from each other all the time, thus the many divisions even within one [any] religion. If you were raised in a different environment, you would have a different "nature". Even the "nature" of the words we are using are a result of our current environment and mean different things to different cultures from different environments. Some cultures don't even HAVE words for concepts from other cultures.

Yes I understand your logic. Each condition is the opposite reflection of the other possible reality. there is always possibilities of antagonists or antagonisms. However, because all possibilities are relevant maybe, we can choose to focus on the possibilities that will nourish and foster, human kindness, love and togetherness.

Man has to change his own path. I am not waiting on Jesus to come and save me, He did that a long time ago out on the cross of calvary. This song always moves me to tears, I lost my mother Feb. 7th 1997, it was played at her funeral. God will take you away from all this trouble in this world. My mother came back to the house of the Lord. I would have liked that somebody had sung this song in their funeral. I looked after her with great affection until the last day. Now she is with the Lord, because she was very kind and religious. What this world needs is lots of love, because there is only vanity and avarice.

My heart...O, My Heart! It is broken afresh by seeing these images of our Louisiana during such a horrible time.
To this day, I worry for the safety/life of a young girl I saw on a live news-feed during Katrina. She was barely passed toddler-stage ~ maybe 4 or 5 yrs old? ~ stranded with a car and an old man (who looked like he may have been dead or close to it) on some floating (or marooned) platform.
I still dream and worry for that baby girl.

We live in a fallen world. Many disasters are due to that. Yet most are because of mans essentially evil nature. One example is the the quake in Haiti. The powers that were at that time snagged the money that could have been put to retrofitting and or building the structures currectly so this would not have been nearly as bad. Our problem is the corrupted culture in which we dwell, more rewarding to feed the ego than feed the homeless. If you want to see some change, change the culture that creates the monsters we blame. DHIII, but the Bible says that we are shapen in iniquity (Psalms 51 5) and Romans Ch 3 is quite unequivocal in stating that we do have an evil nature. We humans are responsible for the culture/society and for what shows up on t.v. It's extremely important that we give due regard to the fact that we are naturally evil (Eph 2 3). For hence, we see our need for the singularly righteous Savior.

People interpret the same book drastically different from each other all the time, thus the many divisions even within one [any] religion. But somewhere along the line one needs to be born again. The seed of God is implanted in the heart and Christ (the second Adam) along the the Holy Spirit and the Father begins to conform us to the image of Christ and all things become new. If you were raised in a different environment, you would have a different "nature". Even the "nature" of the words we are using are a result of our current environment and mean different things to different cultures from different environments. Some cultures don't even HAVE words for concepts from other cultures.

There is no way you can even CLAIM your belief to be "truth".. it is only through your "faith" that you believe ANYthing to be true or not.. You have faith that the meaningless paper money we use is worth the value that's printed on it, but no way to PROVE it. Simply saying that God is the answer doesn't change mans path and could imply you're simply waiting for Jesus to come and save you. Ultimately if man doesn't change and start to love their brothers and sisters, we will all perish. Believing in God myself, i have a hard time imagining God coming to save anyone on this planet except the starving children and the innocent, when the bible says "All will be deceived", why do you think you are not? Can you elaborate 'How' is God the answer?

Man has to change his own path. I am not waiting on Jesus to come and save me, He did that a long time ago out on the cross of calvary. I have made a personal choice to take advantage of the opportunity He has given me. Every man on earth has the same opportunity. God is the answer because in Him one can find peace, love, strength, growth, and salvation. God has shown Himself to me in so many different ways. I am a Registered Nurse and I have seen the wonders of God over and over again. My God.

It is not enough that you can say you are "saved" and at peace, when so many innocent of the world suffer senselessly and most times at the hands of some religious order who thinks they have it all figured out. You never answered the first part of the question and the second half is your faith in your belief system and not a solution.

I dont just claim to be saved and at peace. I know the actions I've taken to help those in need, even at times when I was in need. God has blessed me and I have blessed others and will continue to. It saddens me also to see innocent people suffer - just as Jesus (who was also innocent) suffered and died. However; because I TRULY believe in the promises of God, I know that these people will be rewarded when the time comes. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" Psal 30:5

I know many atheists who would disagree with your statement.. making many life changes on their own. Maybe you misunderstood.. It is mankind's choices that have gotten us into the mess thus far is it not? If any man makes the choice to not assist those in need, and arm themselves against one another because their leadership says so.. they have the Choice to do the opposite at any point. Just bcz a soldier is a christian does it make his rifle a righteous weapon of God? Are those killings ok??

And to add.. just like paying it forward.. or the random hug from a stranger that brightens your day. Making the choice to help, feed, clothe, shelter, being kind, and loving those in need.. or how about not killing someone simply because you were ordered to and trying a peaceful resolution to disagreements? It is not through words or your faith, that simply means that you know what you believe and believe what you believe.. LIVE IT.. That is where the change will come.

Sad to say it but Budhists don't believe there is a God, so using a quote from a group of people who don't believe, does nothing for someone who does, if Jesus Christ taught that people were not to marvel in the Resurrection which means when translated to "stand up or awaken from sleep", and knowing that maybe one day not so far away that Mahalia is awakened how would that make you feel?

Well.. you seem not too familiar with Buddhism either. Buddhists do not deny God, they simply do not try to "fit" or understand that which cannot be understood. While many [most] of mans religions attempt to lay claim on "God's Word" and thought, Buddhist simply observe and enjoy the creation for what it is.

The Bible was written for man to read it and escape from this kind of thinking, mankind are only selfish because they are doing what satan wants them too, God does not want us to be that ignorant so as to avoid all the evidence and miss the reality, the purpose, video's should be used to teach, that is what mahalia missed out on, but when the Ruler changes hands as it were, their will be no more choices the facts will stand out in favour of the one who knows better.
