  • the director should be shot. joyce you are wonderful.

  • Yes it´s a very good interpretation. It´s really heavy and difficult to sing.

  • I adore her...

  • Oh my God, she's AMAZING! The best Elvire ever!

  • who the ef is coughing in the background? LMBO

  • Bloody hell. Joyce's singing aside, what on EARTH are Donna Anna and Zerlina doing in the middle of mi tradi? It looks so idiotic having them there, for god's sake, it's SO unbelievably irritating when directors feel they have to be 'new and innovative' and end up simply ruining a piece visually when the singers voice is quite dramatically sufficient to carry the story across without all the farce they've added to it.

  • My goodness, her diction and phrasing are in a different league entirely than

LaVampirette - Mozart is _such_ great fit for Joyce!! This is the first time I've heard her, I've been so hypnotized by the ups and downs of the Romanian...

  • Sublime !!! I started thinking that she's my favorite Donna Elvira. Beautiful phrasing and acting ! Very sensational !!!!

  • I'm not sure there's anyone on the planet right now who could sing this role as well as her, let alone better. Brava!

  • RIP Charles Mackerras

  • roll those R's Joyce! roll them girl!!!! YES

  • The director should be killed.

  • @TheDivaSharon yes, killed.

  • Lady can't do wrong IMHO. She breathes and paces precisely like Schwarzkopf (live mit FW), but makes this entirely hers. Her agitation is contained, below the surface, but very palpable. Magnificent.

  • Uoh! She sings the aria half tone lower (in D instead of Eflat). This is a version that Mozart himself wrote and you'll find it in the score by Bärenreiter.

  • Elisabeth Schwarzkopf describes this aria as one of the most testing with its intricate changes of key and mood coupled with extraordinary demands on breath control and range. Joyce sails through it superbly and acts well too. Brava!

  • Superbe ! Merci beaucoup ! ;)

  • She sings better as a soprano.
