I agree with you mostly because I'm a huge fan of Auf -Pet and Oz, but I think he's got an amazing voice. it's got some grit, some smoothness... Most male pop singers aren't really technically 'good' but they have some character...they're more 'stylists' than singers. With the right material? Gorgeous.

@vixystar92 It's the exact same clothes he wore for Auf Weirdeshen Pet, he was busy filming scenes for series 2 at the time and had to beg the producers for a few hours off in order to travel to London to perform on Top Of The Pops.

So due to short notice, he jumped into a car and headed directly to London with no time to change his clothes or even brush his hair.

He was literally dropped off at the studio and pushed onto the stage.

This is all in his autobiography "A nothern soul".

I also got the impression that Jimmy felt excluded as the whole entertainment industry seemed to be filled with upper class yuppies and he felt vulnerable and inept compared to the others.

He even admits that he didn't like Kevin Wheatley at first, finding him arrogant.

Jimmy used his early judgement of Kevin Wheatley in the book to point out his own lack of social skills and how suspicious he was towards strangers. He admits that he was concious of his looks and often suspected people of sneering at him. He seemed to take offence at well spoken and well dressed people as a pre-defence mechanism, like he disliked them before they disliked him, getting his jab in first.

He admits his attitude was wrong.

Since I've been open and sincere, the vast majority of people have been lovely.

I blame 10 years of "school" which was, for me, nothing but a predatory environment, and a total waste of my life.
