Roger should retire because if Rafa takes the number 1 spot again before he does retire, critics may have to admit that Rafael Nadal is the best player in the world and that Roger can not be the best player of all time considering their head to head results and Rafa's age and slam titles so far. no, we are not undertstanding eachother. Rafa is only 23 and still changing his technique. He is not the greatest yet but if he brings his tecjnique level up and maintains his physical performance and mental strength over the years he could set more records. What I am trying to get at is that Federer is the best because his technique, strategy and longevity are excellent but IF Nadal can match him in these departments he would have the advantage of more power and could take his place. we'll see

If you know anything about Roger, you'll know that he is not a quitter and never will be. Rafa still has a long way to go and Roger's career is still very much active, by the way. You're also forgetting that the likes of Murray, Djokovic and Del Potro are not going to just stay still while Rafa collects all the titles.
