Rush is one of the greatest bands ever. Caress of Steel is probably my favorite of the first phase of Rush. I remember my mother buying me this album on cassette in August of 1990 then two days later nabbing All The World's a Stage. Then when I got Rush Archives in April, 1991, Caress of Steel's tracklisting matched the original LP (the original COS US cassette issues took "Didacts and Narpets" out of "The Fountain of Lamneth" and put in "I Think I'm Going Bald"'s place to balance tape length).

It is funny. This album is great to listen to now but it was so widely panned and ignored when it came out that it nearly ended the band's career. It was such a horrific bomb that Rush was given one last chance by the record company to redeem themselves. Their do or die last ditch effort was 2112.....and we all know how that turned out!!
