  • Wow, too lazy to get up and walk to the lamp!

  • 1:18 dominos spazz out

  • AMAZING! The Rube Goldberg machines I made at home weren't half as good as this one! For the last time, this is AWESOME! 5 stars!

  • it does load like shit....

  • i know i was like wtf the whole bar is red but its not playin anything givin me the spinin circles thingy

  • drag the play though bar just past the start mark to play it

  • not bad

  • erm...

  • hahaa i love when kids think that comments like "no music thisvid SUKS ballz" makes them sound older and more mature. ahhh the little ones

  • "Could use sound or music".

It's not necessary!!! This was like the most awesome thing i have ever seen. As a 15 year old Autodesk Maya user and have as a hobby to build things, this was just amazing. First of all working in 3D can be really hard sometimes and the device in the end is just pure engineering. I really hope u keep doing this man cause you will go long. I'm subscribing to you now after watching 3 of your films. XD

  • fucking awesome!!! 10/5

  • Holy shit, I didn't know 8 year olds knew how to use the internet...

  • Oh, well aren't you a big boy? Quit going around telling people their videos are terrible, your videos are 10x worse.

    And your website sucks.

  • well shouldnt u be watching ur cartoons then this stuff is too adult and mature for u

  • hey..I'm 16 and like this...but...yeah. 12 year old idiot boy up there shouldn't be allowed to use the internet.

  • You have to be 13 to have an account on youtube...Should I report you now or later?

  • haha

  • LMAO, thats why kids are annoying, they think they know everything. Trust me kid, knowing things doesn't mean anything, because you can't do anything with your "knowledge"......yet

  • shut the fuck up, "kid"

  • which nine

  • df a

  • Wow. im 12, but im WAY more mature then you. Just be a little bit nicer. please.

  • @IHaveACoolName The internet knows how to use 8 year olds

  • build it in real life now then... good animation

  • was the walker at the end part of the game engine or did you just animate it

  • game engine with bullet physics, i actuly started the scene with just that piece and built the rest around it. It took many tries and many designs to get it do what it does. :P

  • that was so cool

  • irrealizzabile

  • Could use sound or music...But otherwise well done.

  • thx

  • @ 02:30: what were the white (and red, on the floor) balls for? are they just there for fun or what?

  • the first white ball is from the previous scene, it was taking me forever to real time this so i broke it up into 4 sections, then it hits a piece that knocks alot of white balls that hits a piece that holds the red balls from continuning. after the green piece drops the red balls continue to do there thing

  • yeah... its really good, but it'd be a lot better if it was real. man that thing had balls!

  • that was a lot of balls. haha that was really cool. we had to make one for science olympiad and it was completely horrific. i think we got second to last place in state competition. our teacher told us not to use any balls that rolled down something because it was "unreliable" when the levers that we made were worse than anything else.

  • Yeah gravity is constant, bounce is not, you never know which way the ball will roll or bounce, but you can control how things go by constraining your options. even in this physics simulation i had to constrain there path and there time.

  • haha i wish i could've told him that!! we were only allowed to use marbles for the wheel and axle and it was the only one that got stuck because that teacher told us to put too many marbles in the second before competition which messed up everything else.

  • love the ball transfer thing at 2:40

  • thx, i had to space them out, so i made that thing up. it worked well im sure there is a simpler way to do it in real life though.

  • the first little ball says to the first big ball "papa...why are you leavin me?!?"

  • wow

  • it takes alotta balls to turn that light off lol

  • Hey class video, I particularly liked the big monolith type guy at the end. Just wondering, you say you use blender to make mods. Not dawn of war by any chance?

    Paul

  • nah, working on a sins of a solor empire mod atm.

  • Ah, cool never heard of it, I'll check it out. Sounds like a puppy and rainbow lovefest

  • i love watching rube goldbergs. there is a Honda one

  • hehe actuly i was inspired by the honda one. very good one. *note a little about that it was not computer generated. ! woot for ppl with patience

  • 'Wish i had the equipment and space to make one of them. You should see the Myth Busters one, it's awesome.

  • What a great animation! It did start getting a little glitchy at the green dominoes, but I definitely couldn't do any better, so 5*! :)

  • is that a program where u can make things like that!

  • a free program called blender - actuly it can be used to do almost anything 3d. I have used to make mods for games, to animations, to textures, to realistic renderings. It does almost anything you want and its opensource!! so devs can mod and add to it if needed.

  • so in theory this should work, right?

But then again in theory communism works.

  • in theory yes, it is missing alot of support beams and gear boxes ect... Im thinking of making another version of such with updated versions of blender - bullet and my new computer. with included boxes. I didn't cheat though it uses the physics based engine for all movements. Getteing the gear ratios on the last bit would be the hardest part i belive. I struggled with that part for along time even in the physics engine.

  • why cant people just post them in real speed?

  • Real speed. Real as in how fast physics are affected by gravity and inertia and friction? This is a computer driven simulation, I actuly had to speed it up to make it seem faster because running in real time on my computer was about 15 minutes. There is alot of computations going on all at once here. So i tried to match what seemed like real speed as best as possible, if you think you can do better go for it.

  • hm..ive never heard of goldberg..is this a program to do this?

  • rube goldberg was a person. the rube goldberg machines, named after him, are intricate machines that are very complex but are used for a simple task (in this case turning off a light bulb).

  • And they usually use a step-by-step process

  • *note - this uses blender 3d built in physics engine called bullet. google blender for more inforamtion on the program (3d suite)

  • nice vid but can you make a real non animation one?

  • In the ideal that its possible yes, do i have the time or means to do so no. :D

  • So cool! I also found this other animation, Plythora Particle Animation (maybe by the same guy?)

    You should check it out!

    God Bless

  • wow nice video ;3

  • very very nice modeling and planning. that was amazing. the renders wherent very good but trust me i understand how much time it would have taken to render such an animation with gi and higher quality settings. lets see if i can come up with an estimation of how long it would take hehehe... ok on my machine it would take about half a year with vray and all eye candys on ;)

  • Thx, actuly this isn't any animation except the camera and why its low detail is because your veing a recorded session of a realtime bullet engine using blender. I didn't have time to texture anything very well and learned alot sence then. It was for a contest that i did not win :P the other guy spent the time to make a simple one that looked and flowed good. Mine is completely realtime based physics, no tricks other then I had to seperate it into 3 smaller scenes.

  • I would never have thought about making such an advanced robot thingie in the end. Gratz for spectacular work!

  • Thanks, I can't belive im still getting views on this. Makes me want to make more videos!!!

  • Dude i think you should make more videos and i think a tutorial for some simple things to do would be awesome! btw INCREDIBLE vid ☺

  • lol a real smiley?!

  • omfg that robot thing at the end looks like it took freakin' forever to nail just right! Kudos!

  • Well the bullet engine is not very uhm... consistent. I had to rerun the thing and add support beams etc.. many times to get it to play just right. it was fun but a pain. thx for noticeing

  • sweeeeeeeeeeet!!

  • Excellent!!

  • build it.

  • What's up bro, i still like the clip even tho its slow its way awesome... btw Happy Birthday...

  • You must be a genious!

    Fuck! XD

  • thats really awesome, it could have been a little faster but knowing how slow blender's physics work, i don't blame it... what always works in these situations though is increasing the frame rate a little before rendering... still love it though

  • yeah I did that, it was 15 minutes in real time. I should of sped it up even more, as well i changed a scene and made it kinda boring in the middle. thanks for the comments though!!

  • wowowowow

  • that's a pretty complex way to turn out a light..............I LUV IT!

  • Where Can I Download It FREE? (4 Mac Or PC)

  • look up blender 3d on google

  • It was great, But i Kind Of felt like there was a lot going on a once. But That was a really good job!

  • thats alot of balls

  • this one is a baked ipo animation from the game engine so yeah this one is all rendered out.

  • The camera angle was fine and the animation was easy to follow, so to make this did you first create the movie useing the game engine, and then render animation,

cause I made one and when you press P there are no textures and it looks like a game from 1970

  • i love that walking thing at the end. nice

  • Thanks!!! That one took alot of work to get working right, but it was worth it, this was alot of fun to make!!!

  • nice! a bit hard to follow at times, but you will be a stiff competitor!

  • because it took 40 + hours to bake all the scenes not includeing rendering I just ran out of time to make the camera work nice. I only spent maybe 1 hour on all of the camera work. If the contest gets extended, be sure to polish the whole thing and camera work. Thanks !!

  • This is a contest entry using blenders bullet physics engine. This was all done in real time then baked to make a video. It was a bit rushed as i was running out of time. There are 4 scenes seperated out because it was just being to slow in realtime as they are all pretty complex scenes. Good luck all entries!!
