First of all ill assume "right left paradigm" to mean the fact that there is no real difference between the republicans and democrats.True, but CFR doesnt maintain it-the electoral college and the constitution maintains it!This "paradigm" is a direct result of the 2 party system, not the CFR. Look at any other liberal democratic country and you will see that they have a wider spectrum of parties than the U.S.
