  • Another delightful video! Thankyou - and the tin was great too!

  • @tubpat Thank you so much!!

  • Very nice tin! I'm in the same swap and it's been so much fun! It really challenged me as I've never done one before.

  • Love your tin! did you copy on transparency? I wonder if my inkjet will copy on transparencies? =D

  • @nanajl54 it should, just be sure to let it dry for a while

  • Another FABULOUS Roxy project!!

BTW, I love the sumbliminal message in the background....the wrinkle cream ad on your magazine....trying to tell me something are ya'?

  • @yoliebean Ha! Yah, I knew you would catch on. So I suppose I shouldn't use one of Bill's mags for my work surface? Bow Chica Wow WOW!!

  • @roxyfur

Not the magazine, just a copy of the pictures he takes when he sells stuff on ebay.....bwahahhahahahah

  • @yoliebean HAAAAA!!! How'd you know it was him!?!?!

  • I have an altoids box sitting on my desk..it keeps loking at me..now I have an idea what to do with it!!!! Awesome idear!!!! Thanks Roxy!!! Kerry :D

  • @duffer9904 Get to it! The alcohol ink really covered nicely and I love the patina on top for the color.

  • Roxy! Your little Muse is amazing!, I just love her. She is so darling & I love all the found treasures you used. Amy is one lucky girl!

I only wish I could could fit "you" in my Altoid tin!

  • @TuberDawn THAT would be so fun!! I could live in your craft room :)

  • Very pretty!

  • Roxy, this is a "newbie" question, so sorry, but can you tell me why you use gel medium vs. modge podge and what the difference is?

  • @olivejuicelulu Mod Podge is mostly for decopage where Gel Medium can be used as a decopage, a glue, a top coat, for adhering 3-dimensional pieces ... I used it completely on my mixed-media canvas, a few vids back... you'll see how versatile Gel Medium is if you check that vid. No newbie question is a bad question, ask away!! ;)

  • when you're making the video, are you trying to not talk or make a lot of noise? it's cool that i can actually HEAR you create without all that fancy music that is added.

  • @paperdrama Sometimes, I just get into the project and keep my yap shut ;) and other times it's hard to keep my yap shut! But the music is so great, it's an old Bowie album from our college days.

  • @roxyfur i like it when you share your stories. The music I was referring to was the music people add when they edit their videos =)

  • @paperdrama oh, Thanks, Jo!! Bowie is good though ;)

  • This is so pretty and so cute.

No one uses altoids here :(

  • Beautiful! I love the fairy pics.

  • Cute altered tin! Thanks for the tut.

  • Such a simply stunning tin. You are so great at these vintage collages. Love 'em so much. Thank you for showing how you do it.

  • Lol...Very pretty. Tfs.

  • Thanks Roxy!!

  • I love these tutorials but I also love the stories you tell us while your doing them.

  • @lizandryan1027 TFW!

  • Really appreciate the time you took to show how you made this!

  • @wowweememe thanks!

  • I love watching these videos Roxy and man I was nearly peeing my pants reading the side scrubby comments cause I can so relate as it is the same in our house every single year and far be it for me to say I told you so ROTFLMAO. Darby and Joan eat your hearts out hey?

    Hugs

    Michelle

  • @bohemiangypsy99 Michelle! I learned something new, I had to look up Darby and Joan, love it!!

  • @roxyfur Really Rox!!!! I thought everyone knew about Darby and Joan lol. I am glad I could give you new info chick.

    Hugs

    Michelle

  • oh I have saved a altoid tin I want to try this thanks for sharing. I wish I had fairy but I am sure i can find some images online.

  • @mommunson I'm sure you can! Just google Fairy or Fairies, these are copyright free and all over the place

  • pretty altered altoids tin.(tfs)louise

  • @mamajt4 Thanks!

  • Super cute! I love how you create such wonderful things in small spaces.

  • @shtanah you mean the small tin or the tiny spot on my table because the rest is piled high of junk?

  • @roxyfur Ha you are so funny! I think we all are like that! but I love the tin!!

  • Great idea - I can't imagine eating all theAltoids at once, though - that is true dedication. Tim :0)

  • @TimCoffeyArt It wasn't pretty ;) Hee!

  • Very Pretty - question what did you use to color the tin? just wondering cause i have about 4 of these tins that i wanted to this too but no alcohol inks yet and I didn't think paint would stay on. I love fairies very nicely done roxy. TFS.....Hugs Laura.

  • @luyandol I used alcohol inks and rub and buff. I think just rub and buff would work though, it's a tiny tube but it goes a looong way. I also wonder if you could put gesso down then paint ???

  • What an awesome idea for the altoid tin...and to think you could have been helping hubby with the lights instead..... NOT !! hee hee

    :)

    Debbi...

  • @deelusional1 HA!! It's best I don't, we love being with each other but on separate projects ;)

  • I love that you actually ATE all the Altoids! They are so spicy I can't deal! I would have put them in my compost bag LOL! From the sounds of it someone needs a hot toddy :-) Your scrubbie throws them in like that because he likes the equal amount of torture next year when he pulls them out in a mess and starts right back in on the cussing! Yeah, you just wrote that very thought in! LOL! Btw, you have so made me obsessed with Gel Medium! I love this video format you do--TFS

    Brigitte xx

  • @shoeprincess1 Hee Hee! Thanks, Brigitte! I'm hooked on the GM too!

  • Roxy, here it is almost 3am and me and my hubby are cracking up! Love the whole process and the outcome of the tin. You're a great wife! I could feel the tension though. Lol. You are a hoot and a half. Patti

  • @ShabbyPinkStamper What are you doing up so late?!?

    Hi again Roxy...

WOW ~~ really a gorgeous work of art...though you always are amazing...

Thank you so much for showing us how you made the entire altered box ~~ I usually purchase gift card holders and then just add some embellishments...but now I think I want to alter one...

I luv your decorations and vintage papers...only the head stone angel pic really creeps me out...hope you are not inviting a unwanted guest into your home...lol...lol...now you think I am nuts ~

Roxy ~~ you are sooooooo super funny...hope you had a large cup of hot chocolate waiting for your husband when he finished...maybe a few cookies too...lol...lol...make it all worth his while...lol...lol...

Thank you so much for sharing...again luv how you showed exactly how to make the box ~~ mostly everyone these days don't take the time ~~ they just show us the finished item...

Also are you using Modg Podg...does it hold up on the tin...why didn't you use another coat on top of the papers for extra protection against tearing...

LUV IT ~~ LUV IT ~~ LUV IT ~~ really super gorgeous...

    Have a fun winter evening...

    Surie

  • @KINDERKRAFTS I used Gel Medium and I actually did top coat, but lost the footage ;)

  • @KINDERKRAFTS HA!! Nope, keeping my mouth shut was his cup of chocolate and cookies, Surie!! :)

  • @KINDERKRAFTS Heck no! I'm superstitious too, that's why I'm not keeping her ;) JK!

  • That is too flippin' funny. Poor scrubby. :) Love the altoids tin. I used to pop them like candy when I was in school and I have a bagful of them collecting dust. This could be the kick in the pants I need to work on them.

  • @CrysTvsky It was really fun, try it!

  • LMAO at scrubby!!!! I think I might have pee'd a little!! Awesome project!!!

  • @TheCanadianWynn I know I did! HEe!

  • I love fairies too. Cute!

  • Really really nice Roxy! I have some of these old tins I picked up at the thrift store!! So tell me.... how's hubby doing!! Guys are funny that way! LOL

    tfs..

    ~Christina

  • @cabettsutubeuser Ha! He's not taking the lights off the deck until it warms up, the cord gets really hard in this cold and that makes it more of a mess.

  • I have found that is the true secret to a long and happy marriage, not saying all those you shouldas' You crack me up!! The tin turned out great, the image on the front, did you print her on a tranparency? Thanks for the art and the chuckles.

  • @JenniferNicoleable Ha! Yes, I set up a full page of images I want on a transparency, e-mail them to my local Office Max and have them print it on transparency, costs about $1

  • Beautiful Roxy! I love altering these altoids cans. I got tired of eating them just to get the can. lol So its been awhile since I've done one. heehee TFS!

  • @LiveLoveScrap I know! my hubbie used to eat them at his desk, gave me 15 of them and I THREW THEM AWAY when I cleaned my lair last summer! WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?

  • Roxy, this is just gorgeous!!! Loved watching you make it! TFS!

    Hugs,

    Mary

  • @cardcrazy09 Thanks, Mary!
