  • sorry viggo, you can't sing.

  • Ooh, very country-like. I like it. He is the most calm man I've seen... Ever.

  • It doesn't even matter that he hasn't got the most wonderful voice in the world...he has so much passion, and power for the words he's singing. It's wonderful.

  • so much power..

  • take your time

  • I remember being there last month was amazing!

when he did this, it struck the audience big time...this was only a TINY PORTION of how good the entire play(s) were!

i met him after a couple of the shows, and he was very nice to everyone. VERY open yet very soft-spoken. i said "Viggo you did an excellent job w/ every poerformance", he was signing something for someone and said "Thank you i appreciate that, but i hope you guys didnt find it to be overly long" i said "no way,we loved it."

  • I love this man, no matter what he does!

  • be still my heart...a man with something to say.

  • yes viggo is worthy of praise - he is definitely one of the coolest people walking around this earth right now

  • Try and look up "Bob Dylan Masters of War" here on youtube - Viggo and Dylan actually have the same sound throughout most of the song.

Plus, singing a song like this acapella - takes a lot of courage, it is a hard song.

    Hats off for Viggo.

Sorry he didn't get his Oscar, but there is absoultely no shame in loosing to Daniel Day-Lewis for There Will Be Blood (!) :)

  • haha is hot and all that but the singing isn't for him

  • Wish I had the ability to stand up on stage in front of public and zillions of tube users. He has a very strong impressive and touching voice. All respects from here.

  • Viggo é o homem das mil e uma faces...adorável!!!

  • word up

  • Viggo's interest just varies he has passion for many things and succeeds in everything he does. His voice here isnt the best but he's still a winner, you gotta respect that. I hope he never changes with the more fame coming to him... when he wins the Oscar ;)

  • wow! i have even more respect for Viggo. he sings great/ and let me tll you - it's realy hard to sing without accompanement.

and it goes without saying, Dylan's song are tremedous!

  • These words ring as true today as they did 40 plus years ago.

  • Yes this is so scary..clowns..yes.

piss off with your random shite man

  • I only pasted this because he was right there. The first thing I did was yell,"SASUKE!" And that was stuped!

  • Luke 20:46 (or there abouts, depending on translation. I like the new international version) Bob Dylan "Talkin' World War III Blues" was this guy drafted before? I can relate.

  • videos not that big man lol

  • WTF was that!!! Meh, at least he was bad ass in Eastern Promises.

  • This is great! Viggo sings like Bill Monroe!

  • you suck, I was in nam. Shut the fuck up

  • Convincing argument... Ha ha, u really stand up to our (Europeans) picture of an american! I sure hope Obama get the job as president, then he open ur eyes.

  • zimmerman had a guitar, where is tha guitar?

Viggo has a tone, but does he has a tune.

the lyrics rule, even after 40(0) years,

    eddie vedder rulez

  • Viggo Rules!

  • I like him, he's so hot and I'm obsessed with him but I don't feel he can sing that well? on another note, its a shame his son did not inherit his good looks.

  • i totally agree about the son...and about the song too, I'm afraid

  • where is a pic of the son ?

  • you can find it on internet, just google it

  • Mean but true ;) He looks a lot like Jack Black in some photos... where'd all the pretty genes go? His mum isn't bad looking either.

  • he actually looks more like his mom, who isn't a beauty. I like that Viggo doesn't care about such things. Makes him hotter.

  • Very true =) There are some real sweet pics of him and his son around. But it is is little weird that the guy I fangirl over has a son older then me ^^; haha

  • Aragorn singing Dylan. It was meant to be. hahaha.

  • thanks so much for posting this!!

  • Glad someone has got the time to realize what is going on! War and suffering shouldn't be allowed!

We had a national collection (In Denmark) for Africa and McD only gave 50.000$. - "Let me ask u one question, is ur money that good? Will it buy u forgiveness?" Hmm, guess u gotta pay more then?!

The world needs a revolution, a change in mindset. Instead of fighting we gotta help. Look around u, Africa, the middle east etc. needs ur help! We are supposed to be enlighented, please act like it!

  • Hey..

I salut you Viggo and hope you get the oscar

great song voice.. love your movies..

    great for a dane..

saedan Viggo.. her er ihvertilfaeldt en stolt dansker.. fantastisk stemme..

    nyder altid dine film

  • I want Viggo- why can't I have him? We would go so well together...

  • back up!! He's mine!! :)

  • heh we'll share him!!

  • You'll end up sharing him about a million different ways in the end ;)

  • You are a moron. Why don't YOU go enlist then. I'm not paying for your PTSD when you come home either.....

  • First of all, I'm NOT a hippy. Second of all, the only reason people o to war is to fight other ppeople who go to war, who are there to fight other peopel who go to war.

I'm not saying that some wars (WWII) weren't just, but that war itself is not PLEASANT. Also, why DON'T you join the army if it is so valiant??

  • Was this in Boston on January 9th? Viggo is a great guy - I thank him so much for helping Kucinich in New Hampshire and for having the courage to speak out and act against the war and injustice in the world. Peace.

  • He was terrific in NH- I was there and met them. He says it's the corporate agenda which influences the media.

  • just one thing: everyone opening mouth and heart to state what should be said day by day: respect.

  • :) YES!

How about a little Buckethead/Viggo Intelligence Failure? 'zat anywhere on YouTube?

    lemme go look..

  • ok,..i like viggo to. but please stay out of singing. at least that song.

  • I will have to be with you on this one. To sing a Dylan song, you will have to have a stronger foundation.

  • true man. I like his voice..but..no. don't like this. He is ruing it. I don't blame him for it anything though, I mean no one can ever sing it the way bob is sings it. no one ever will.

  • nice job! good luck in Oscar!!

  • And your point is?

  • Which he's putting to great use. More power to him.

  • det var sgu da kedeligt.....

  • Right on - Viggo stolte aner fornægter sig ikke ;o)

  • Needs more cowbell.

  • Fantastisk Viggo

  • Sådan Viggo, ville ønske, at flere danske kunstnere gjorde som du: syng politiske sang!!!!

  • Godt gået Viggo

  • Godt gået Viggo!

  • I agree with you. Bravo Viggo

  • Bravo Viggo - I respect you so much for your stand against injustice. God help you in all the things you do.

  • He voice is perfect for FOLK MUSIC. I hope he continues to perform more folk music ( american & international), as folk is my favorite style of music and he sings it so very well !!!!!!!!!

  • he really has a voice. I loved too hear him sing in the Lord of the Rings but this is better :D

  • Thank God for this good man who speaks for so many whose voices cannot be heard.

  • Love when Viggo sings :-)

  • Wow. This is probably the best I've heard him sing in English...strangely enough his voice is much better suited to sing songs in spanish.

  • Where can I hear him sing in spanish?

  • nice..

  • I'm curious as to why Vitto is singing "Masters of War"? He's no Eddie Vedder that's for sure lol, but it isn't the most terrible thing i've heard...but like I said, i'm wondering why an actor is singing this legendary song? I'm not familar with this is from...

  • Viggo performed the song for a taping of The People Speak, a television program celebrating and highlighting Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States." It was recorded January 8-9, 2008 in Boston. He sang, rather than simply reciting the lyrics, because he is an outspoken and passionate voice against the war. Everything he says and does is with heart.

  • The story is that Bob Dylan wrote and recorded this song before Eddie Vedder was born. And Kurt Cobain didn't write "The Man Who Sold The World", David Bowie did :-)

  • lol? ru kidding?

  • people need to lesson to the song it still stands for today even thou it was written 40 years ago

  • i am a big Viggo fan.

Where and when was this? this is awesome!

  • This is incredible. I love Mr. Mortensen, he is a real artis.

  • Wow.

It is strange to hear that a voice that special can carry so much emotion. You may think he doesn't know how to sing. That's what i was thinking till i heard Envidia... than i understood.

His voice i just as his other talents: special, but vibrant and powerful.

    And addictive.

  • You must be a man - because for us women, Viggo is a Yummy Kitten Mansicle, His Holy Hotness, a wanton sex god! But either you dig him or you don't - it's chemistry.

A bit about Viggo - He's a highly talented actor nominated for an Oscar in "Eastern Promises" he's a poet, painter, actor, political activist for human rights causes not just a shallow Hollywood celebrity or wild party boy type.

  • I think this poster means his singing.

  • Well.. Not bad.

  • Go Viggo :-) I want more...

  • ...listen to it loud and you'll feel the jist of it!...awesome Viggo!...

  • I love Viggo's singing.

    A true star in every

    sense of the word! A

    great song too.

  • He´s true, he´s intense...

    Great performance. Utterly moving.

In my heart he already won the Oscar.

  • Although he may not be the most talented vocalist, his minimalist performance stirred and moved me. He sings/speaks with raw emotion and conviction that it's almost chilling.

  • I agree.

  • Este hombre tiene el don de la ubicuidad!!

  • este hombre tiene el don de la ubicuidad!

  • and one ring shall rule them all. you go aragon!

  • Well done, Viggo!

Well written, Master of Words, Bob Dylan.

Perfect combination of talent and, more importantly, sentiment.

    CM

  • listen to it on drugs, it sounds even better

  • TRUTH! he's good at it. very good at it.

  • He is such a shining spirt. Too bad Rep. Dennis Kucinich pulled out of the presidential campaign - but I'm so grateful Viggo campaigned for him. Such a talented actor, singer, poet, writer musician and Wanton Sex God - I think I've seen LOTR a zillion times! Aragon just iced it for me.

    Colleen

  • incredible and moving performance. The song

rings as true today as in the sixties

  • wow that was weird

  • It gave me goosebumps, he was amazing, I love this man!

  • WOW! VERY powerful words! Great job, Viggo!

  • So pure and raw with emotion and truth! This song was the perfect performance for Viggo--it has such meaning now it gives me chills. I have admired Viggo for years and it is a moment like this that reminds me why.

  • Cool!! thanks,sounds good ..

  • Dang. I love that man. He has such a wise and giving soul and he's brave to stand, unflinching, for what he believes in. Well done.

  • He's so true. I love this man.

  • god...he is perfect....you deserve to win the oscar.

  • I really like the Native American flavour in the beginning. And I love that there is no accompaniment. It is there, bare, and unforgiving. Beautifully sung, and with passion. I miss music being like this.

  • Viggo is brilliant.

  • Amazing.

  • Wow!

    Mr Mortensen is so versatile!

  • Thank you Viggo, it's amazing. I'm speechless. Wonderful! Thanks....

  • Yes, he CAN do anything, and he does it all so well! I couldn't believe it when I heard he had sung this whole song a capella!

    BRAVO, VIGGO!!!

    You Rock!

  • ...very nice...

  • Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!
